Eden
I had to gather myself before returning to work before I cost the cafe money. It would have worked if Wayne hadn't walked into the cafe and approached the counter. I stared at him and pictured all the ways I wanted to hurt him, starting with his balls.
"Eden, can we talk?" Wayne asked.
"I told you the other night we had nothing to say to each other."
"We need to talk."
"No, we don't. You said everything you needed to say when you stuck your dick in that bitch," I hissed.
"It was a stupid mistake." Wayne shook his head.
"One that cost you your relationship with me."
"I regret hurting you."
"Oh, well, too bad. Your regrets mean nothing. Tell me, Wayne. Would you have told me the truth if I hadn't caught you?"
Wayne Drew his brows together and opened his mouth before closing it.
"That's what I thought." I bobbed my head and pulled my bottom lip in with my teeth. "How is it guys will only tell the truth when they get caught cheating? Even then, they'll deny it or twist it. You made your choice. I made mine."
"Eden."
An arm slipped around my waist and held me in place. "I'm sure the lady has said her peace."
Wayne glared at Aiden while I remained unfazed. "This is between me and my girlfriend. Take your hands off of her."
Aiden tightened his hold on me. "Now, that's where you're wrong and delusional. Eden has been my girl since you lost her. You should have considered her before choosing a clunker over a Charger. A muscle car is always better than a sports car. Sure, they might seem great because they're fast. But they don't last and yell, I'm an asshole with a small dick." He looked past Wayne before scoffing.
I followed Aiden's line of sight and saw Wayne's BMW. Everything about Wayne had to yell, "I have money, and I'm not afraid to show it." He always wanted people to envy him.
Wayne narrowed his eyes to a slit as his lips curled into a sickening smile. "At least I don't work in a garage, making minimum wage."
Aiden leaned forward and returned his smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. "No, but my family owns most of the businesses in this town. It would be a shame if they exposed your dirty little secret or denied you business."
Wayne's smile turned into a frown.
"Run along, doggy." Aiden waved Wayne off. "Enjoy your bone since that's all you'll get now."
Diego stood on my other side and leaned on the counter with one hand. "You heard my cousin. We have the right to refuse service to anyone. And we don't allow dogs in due to health codes."
Wayne didn't say anything and retreated like the little bitch he was. How the hell did I date this guy for five years?
Aiden removed his arm from my waist, and I immediately felt the loss of his warmth. He refilled his coffee, returned to his table, and stayed there. Diego and I returned to the kitchen to prep for incoming customers.
"Can I ask you a question?" I asked Diego.
"Yeah, sure."
"What's up with your cousin?" I nodded at Aiden.
Diego glanced at Aiden before focusing on work. "Who? Aiden?"
"Yeah. He keeps telling everyone I'm his girl. Yet, he hasn't asked me out on a date. He's a little confusing."
