Aiden
I needed to track that snake's movements without alerting Eden's attention. I didn't want her to worry while recovering. Since my family enjoys putting their nose in our business, I enlisted their help to guard Eden while Diego and I scoped out Mia's whereabouts.
Different family members took turns and visited Eden while I ran errands. I didn't tell them what the errands entailed. I enlisted frick and frack to help me find the stupid bitch. Ryan and River threatened to beat my ass when they returned home if I kept referring to them as frick and frack. It's not my fault they share the same damn brain.
Ryan hacked into the street cameras and found the snake's location. It seemed she was hiding in Daddy dearest's basement. That's interesting because the police searched the house but didn't find the snake. Daddy dearest must have a secret room to hide the psychotic bitch. That's fine. We needed to track her movements.
We bought an Air Tag and placed it in the wheel well of the car she drove when she ventured out at night. We connected the air tag to our phones so it would alert us when she was on the move. I also tinkered with Daddy Dearest's car by grabbing a handheld electronic unlocking mechanism for car doors from the shop. We would use them when people didn't leave their keys with us to work on the cars.
I unlocked Rueben's car, popped his hood, and got to work. I loosened the spark plugs so the engine would misfire. He could drive a small distance but not a long one. He would have no choice but to bring his car to the auto shop.
After messing with Rueben's car, I dropped the hood and locked his vehicle. I moved to Gloria's car, unlocked the door, and popped the truck. Diego kept watch to tell me if anyone was coming since River dismantled the security cameras from Aunt Tori's laptop. I pulled wire cutters from my back pocket. Snip, snip, and the car wouldn't start if it weren't getting power.
I dropped the hood and locked the car. After wiping the inside, I took a rag and wiped the car of any evidence. Once Diego and I cleared the property, I texted River. He enabled the cameras again.
Now, we wait.

Roman
I was finishing a car when Dad called my name. "Roman!" He yelled.
I dropped the hood and wiped my hands with a rag. "Yeah?"
"I got a car misfiring!"
I told Tate to pull the car out, park in an open spot, and call the owners. He nodded, climbed inside, and backed it out of the bay.
I walked toward Dad with a customer and glanced at the car.
"So, you said your car is running rough?" Dad asked the customer.
"Yes, that's what I said. What part didn't you understand?" The customer snapped.
Wait. I knew this asshole. This was Eden's stepdaddy. Why would he bring his car to us? He fucking hates us.
My dad cocked his head and crossed his arms. "Sir, I would watch your tone unless you want to tow your tin can to another auto repair shop and pay up the ass for the tow and repairs. We don't appreciate rude customers."
Rueben pressed his lips together, trying to bite his tongue. "Fine. My car keeps misfiring when I drive it."
"Roman will pull it in and take a look."
"How long will this take?"
"It depends on the issue." My dad shrugged.
Rueben pursed his lips. "I'll wait."
"Fine. There's a waiting room right through those doors." Dad pointed to the double doors. "We have complimentary coffee for our customers and vending machines if you get hungry. But you must pay for the food." He smiled.
