It's been a week and a half since Eren was hospitalized.
You hadn't seen him since. Connie called you after a few days to tell you that he got discharged and was back at their house but still, you couldn't bring yourself to visit him.
Today, that would change.
You were standing in front of the front door, you knocked on the door and waited. Everybody's car was home at their house so you waited no more than a minute before Connie came and opened the door for you.
"Oh hey! Eren's upstairs," he backed up for you to walk in, you were carrying food that you bought for him in a bad and you walked over to the steps and headed upstairs.
You remembered which room was his from the party that was here, you took in a deep breath and knocked on his door.
"Come in," he responded quickly, you were so nervous for some reason but you turned the doorknob and pushed the door open.
Eren was there with his back facing you, he didn't have a shirt on but he was grabbing a plain grey shirt that he had in his hands. All you saw were the muscles and figure of his back before he turned around, he wasn't wearing his bandages anymore but he had noticeable stitches over where he had been stabbed.
He froze when he saw you and you froze too. You didn't prepare something to say like you should have. Speaking to him normally came so naturally that you never had to think about what you were saying.
You'd been doing well all week, not crying as much as you felt like but instead keeping your composure. But when you saw him again, looking at you with stitches about his brow and on his abdomen, you lost it.
You had to turn around abruptly so that you wouldn't cry, you didn't want to feel this passionately about him but you did and you couldn't hide it. Even if you wanted to. He was such a light in your life, you could only see a world devoid of light with him not in it and all that came back to you when you saw him.
"I could never hate your smile...and there's not a sound in the world that's more beautiful than your laugh...but you've deprived me of you for eleven days." He spoke first, he was suddenly behind you and waiting for you to look at him but you didn't think you could handle it.
"Look at me. Please." He begged from behind and you finally gave in, you slowly turned around but you didn't make eye contact at first.
He'd put his shirt on and you traced your eyes up slowly to his face where he was looking at you rather sadly.
"Why didn't you come to see me? Are you upset with me?" He questioned with his voice a little strained and for whatever reason, when you tried to speak, you couldn't.
You thought you were ready to face him but you weren't. You backed up and reached for the doorknob behind you, you opened it before turning around and Eren slammed it shut with one hand he kept in level with your head.
"No. If you're upset with me, I'll just open the door but I need you to tell me because for eleven days all I've thought of is you and how upset with me you must be to not come see me." He denied, keeping his hand on the door while staring down at you.
You were clutching the bag of food in your hands without anything to say. Every time you looked at his face, you were reminded of how he looked when he was dying and how it was your fault.
"Talk to me...please." He sighed, you parted your lips to speak and held on tighter to the bag.
"I'm not upset with you." You said as calmly as you could and he sighed with relief.
"I brought you food...I'll just leave it and go." You insisted and walked around him to leave the food on his bedside table, when you turned around he grabbed your hand.
