You straightened your jellyfish necklace as you looked in the mirror. You were wearing a light blue crop top and a long matching blue skirt, it has simple asymmetrical ruffles across the bottom that you paired with sandals. You checked yourself in the mirror one more time before leaving the bedroom.

Eren said after breakfast he wanted to take you out back so you could see the lake. You were happy to go, you loved nature. You walked down the stairs where you saw him waiting for you by the door, he had a blanket in his hands and he looked up from the ground when he heard you walking down.

He had on a white tank top and jeans, there were a few oil stains smudged on them so you assumed he'd probably been working on the car again while he was waiting for you. He opened the front door and allowed you out first.

It was sunny out and hot but there was a cool breeze coming through when you stepped out. Eren walked next to you and you followed him around to the side gate where you walked through a field of grass and flowers together. You had a clear view of the lake when you walked far enough with Eren. He set down the blanket and sat down on it, you did the same. The grass swayed a bit in the wind as you sat next to each other.

"What do you think about when you come out here?" You asked abruptly and looked at him.

"What I want in life...how I want to live." He answered but you knew there was more to that.

"And how do you want to live?"

"Freely." He responded and turned his head over to you, you smiled at him because you honestly weren't expecting such a hopeful answer from him.

"What about you? How do you want to live?"

"Happily." You responded to him and he seemed more happy with your answer than his own.

"I find it hard to believe that you not living happily is even possible." He said to you and you tilted your head.

"What do you mean?"

"You find the beauty in everything...and that alone makes you smile. It's a gift that not everyone possesses, you're special and the exception y/n." He professed but you didn't know how you were supposed to interpret that or if you were correctly.

He looked up at the sky, birds were flying by towards the lake and he watched them curiously.

"You deserve more than you receive...I hope at the very least, I live a life where you can have what you deserve." He said calmly and you gulped in nervousness for what he might mean by that.

"What do I deserve?"

"Happiness." He answered and looked away from the sky to you.

"You've already accomplished that. I am happy with you."

"But you're also sad and...mad with me. You deserve more than that." He says and you squinted a little.

"Those are both emotions that have always ended with happiness with you. Even when I'm mad or sad with you, you never fail to make me happy again. I think that's what makes you special too...it's like a superpower you have." You replied and he looked at you like he didn't believe you in the slightest.

"Why don't you believe that you make me happy? Have I made it seem like you don't?" You inquired and he shook his head.

You reached for your necklace and held it up off your neck a little.

"It's gold, Eren. You got me a gold necklace of my favorite animal. Not silver. Gold. You listen to me even when I talk too much and you don't get sick of me, you've done something for me that no one else has," you explained to him before dropping the necklace to lay back on your chest.
