TWO WEEKS LATER
Since Eren's been gone, you spent most of your time practicing driving on your own and working on clothing and sewing.
He hadn't texted or called but you were prepared for that since he told you that was a big possibility before he left. You were in your room sitting in front of your sewing machine when you heard a knock on your door.
"Come in," you turned around, Sasha entered with some mail in her hand and she approached you.
"You've got a letter...it's from Eren," she said as she read the writing on it and handed it to you.
You excitedly grabbed it from her quickly and started tearing it open right then and there.
"Why're you sooooo excited...? Something you wanna tell me about you two?!" Sasha asked excitedly and you just ignored her while smiling and opening up the letter.
"Stop trying to peek at it! Don't you have something to do, like make dinner for yourself?!" You covered the letter and held it to your chest to hide it from her while she kept trying to peak.
"Hmmm...I guess!" She huffed in annoyance and left the room, only when you saw the door close did you open the letter and begin to read.
"I'm sorry I haven't been able to find a way to call you. I tried to look for an exception to outside contact in my contract but there was none so I'm sending you this in secret. I'm going to be gone for a bit longer but I'm hoping I'll be back by the end of the month. I miss you and the moment I get back I'll come pick you up. And I hope you've been practicing your driving, I'm going to test you when I return."
You smiled at the little jellyfish drawing he left at the bottom as you finished reading. You sighed and set the letter down, you missed Eren and your random hangouts with him a lot more than you thought you would. You wanted to reply to the letter but you weren't sure if that was the right thing to do so you decided to wait and think about it instead.
You missed his voice, his eyes...his face entirely and you even missed his lips. You found yourself thinking about how it felt to kiss him and you smiled to yourself before getting up and grabbing your keys to go practice driving again.
EREN POV:
I didn't know if she got my letter or not but I hoped she did. I didn't know when I'd be leaving New York City either but this is the most distracted I've ever been.
I was supposed to be paying attention as I walked with my father, listening to his detailed notes about his company and what I'd need to know before I take over. Instead, I was thinking of y/n and how much I miss her.
I miss the smell of her perfume, seeing her jellyfish necklace every day, her personality and her jokes, and her...lips.
Fuck, I miss her lips.
I miss her voice the most, and the softness of her hands when she tends to my wounds. My heart was racing just at the thought of it all, my chest tightened and I found myself imagining how it would feel to hug her again—to kiss her again. It felt weird even thinking about that, when she kissed me while we sat together for the first time I didn't even believe that it was real at first.
I was completely dumbfounded and then when she apologized because I didn't say anything, I realized it was all real.
"Are you listening, Eren?" my father asked and I looked toward him trying to show me a finance folder.
"Yes. Sorry." I shook my head a little and returned my attention to the finances he was going over.
"You need to pay attention, if you want to take after me you have to know these things." He reminded me and I just nodded slowly.
