"Miss Howlett. Do you believe you are happy?"
"As happy as I can be, yes."
"Put your pencils down. Would the last person in each row please bring the answer sheets to me?" Aizawa's sleepy voice filled the 1-A classroom as all of the students followed his instructions.
Yaoyorozu quietly stood up and walked up their row, gathering papers from everyone seated in front of her. Y/n gave a weak smile when she handed hers over.
"Have you ever had thoughts of harming yourself or others?"
"No. Not since I was in the lab."
Y/n stretched her arms out and flexed her wrists. The test was long, but nothing she couldn't handle. She had been able to answer every question and was positively certain she didn't get a single one wrong.
It had been a long three days of testing and just like that, it was over. From the chatter around her, the clawed girl could tell her classmates were excited about that fact. Everyone had studied hard and tested harder, it was no wonder they were all antsy to get the practical exam started.
"Now, Y/n, I want to touch on the subject of you being a clone. Can we talk about that?"
"What else are we here for?"
The girl had only heard from Professor Xavier once since she initially called him. He told her that Logan would be in town soon and had agreed to help train her to keep her feral side in check. Y/n wasn't the happiest when she learned she'd have to deal with Logan again, but it was better than nothing.
From the front of the room, Aizawa was making an announcement, "Good job everyone, you've all put in a lot of effort over the past three days, but you aren't done yet. Go home, get some rest, and make sure you come in tomorrow ready to complete your practical exams. Class dismissed."
"Have you met the man that you're a clone of?"
"Yeah, and he's a real piece of work, so don't bank on getting him to come in and talk with you."
Aizawa and Mic both flat-out refused to answer any questions about the practical exam, regardless of how curious Y/n and Hitoshi both were. Their dinner conversations for the past week have been carefully worded questions and flat-out refusals to answer.
X-22 had even tried to ask them about it, but they also refused to tell him anything in depth. When he recounted the interaction to Y/n, he made sure to mention that Aizawa had said that 22 was as bad as the other two kids. That had made the girl smile.
"Okay, how about we switch topics for a moment? Can you tell me what happened between you and someone named Dr. Ikeda in the lab? A situation involving the two of you is briefly mentioned in your file."
"What's there to talk about? I killed him."
Then there was her most recent appointment with Dr. Kobayashi. It was a double session and they touched on many subjects Y/n would've preferred to not speak about. But, alas, her therapist was convinced that the girl needed to 'confront her past demons' in order to come to terms with everything else happening in her life.
One of those 'past demons' was the fact that Y/n had blood on her hands. To Kobayashi, this was supposedly a point of total change for the girl. To Y/n, this was simply an example of the things she was willing to do for the people in her care.
"Do you regret what you did?"
"No. Ikeda was the doctor's second hand, he did horrible things to all of us. If I didn't do it, someone else would have. To you, that sounds horrific, but to us? That was life."
