Jason met up with Hailey in Chinatown. He was still wearing his dad's motorcycle jacket, but he changed into a plain red shirt and nice blue jeans. It wasn't a formal event but he still wanted to look nice. Hailey was wearing a black sweater, and black leggings with white sneakers. Her long black hair was styled so it looked wavy. She looked gorgeous, and Jason thought his jaw might actually hit the floor. They'd gone out on dates, but neither were really the type to go out somewhere that they needed to dress up.

"You look beautiful." Jason said as Hailey walked up to him with a smile and gave him a quick hug.

"Thanks! You don't look too bad yourself. The jacket suits you." She said causing Jason to smile brightly. He was happy to get complimented on his dad's old jacket.

"It's been a long time Jason. How have you been?" A woman's voice came from the doorway to Hailey's house. Jason looked towards the door to see Hailey's mom Akane standing there. She was essentially an older version of her daughter. The same black hair although Akane's was shorter and in a bob cut, and the same warm eyes.

"I've been well ma'am. My sister just woke up so I've felt a lot less stressed recently." Jason said as Akane smiled at the news of Emily. Emily was loved by most of the city because of softball. She was essentially a celebrity in the city, and when she got hurt a lot of people were saddened and wished her a speedy recovery. Thankfully the recovery was quick compared to what it could have been.

"So Emily's going to be alright? That's good to hear." A man's voice came from behind Akane. It was Hailey's dad Wei. He was a man who stood about the same height Jason did with black square frame glasses, short brown hair, and dark brown almost black eyes. He wore a white button up shirt, black dress pants, and dress shoes. Jason had always gotten along with Hailey's family, but he wasn't sure how they felt after he and Hailey broke up.

"Let's get going then." Wei said as the 4 packed into the family's black SUV.

"I was surprised Hailey asked you to come with her." Wei said as he drove to the party.

"I wasn't. You 2 always seemed to click well. I'll admit I was more than a little sad when you guys broke up." Akane said as Jason couldn't help the blush. He was happy they still seemed to like him.

"I was too. I was surprised cause Hailey didn't even want to talk about you for a while after it happened. But it looks like you guys are on your way to patching things up." Wei said with a small smile. Now both Hailey and Jason were blushing.

"Dad!" Hailey said causing her mom and dad to laugh at the young adults. They pulled into the parking lot of the party venue, and Jason saw a few familiar cars. The Kazama family, Alexander Amato, Mao Ka Long, and Mirko were all here already.

"Damn it. Mirko is here." Jason said. He hated having to interact with Mirko but he'd put up with it for Hailey.

"You don't even have to act friendly to him. Just don't get into a fight. Alright Jay?" Hailey said as Jason took a deep breath.

"Alright. For you I won't jump at the chance to punch that smug prick." Jason said as Hailey smiled and laughed a little. The group walked into the party and Jason saw Double Trouble with Alexander Amato. The Kazama family were also all here it seemed since he saw an older man and woman with Eiji. Mao Ka Long and Mirko had nobody with them it seemed. The Mayor was also there with Vincent Gordon hanging around him. Vincent was far enough away that you wouldn't notice him if you were talking to Norman.

When people saw Jason he saw a few people freeze up for a moment. The people who froze up were Mao Ka Long, Alexander Amato, Takashi Kazama, and Norman Piers. The moment was so brief that you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't paying attention. The party was nice and Jason was purposely avoiding all the people he knew. Even if they owned legitimate businesses everyone knew they were gangsters. Jason figured it wouldn't help Hailey and her parents if their guest was seen interacting with them. Jason went up to one of the long tables that had food on them and started placing things on his plate.
