The engagement ceremony continued around us, but for a moment, it felt as though time had slowed down. Siddharth's presence was like a breath of fresh air, and I couldn't help but wonder if this unexpected meeting was a sign of something new and promising in my life.
As the conversation drew to a close, Siddharth gave me a warm smile.
"It was really nice talking to you, Sana. I hope the rest of the day goes smoothly for you."
"Thank you, Siddharth," I replied, feeling a spark of anticipation.
"It was nice meeting you too."
As he walked away, I found myself reflecting on our brief but meaningful interaction. Siddharth had managed to make me feel lighter, if only for a moment. And for the first time in a long while, I felt a glimmer of hope that perhaps, amidst the joy and celebrations, something new and positive was beginning to take shape in my life.
POV END
As the evening unfolded, Siddharth found himself navigating through the buzz of the engagement party, his mind still occupied with thoughts of Sana. He approached Mohana and Sahil, who were engaged in light-hearted conversation.
"Sahil," Siddharth began, his curiosity evident,
"who is that girl I bumped into earlier? The one who's been helping with the arrangements."
Sahil glanced in the direction Siddharth was pointing and then looked back at him with a knowing smile.
"Oh, you mean Sana. She's not my sister, but she's very close to us. She's like family, really."
Mohana, who had been standing quietly beside Sahil, was taken aback by Siddharth's interest. She had always had a soft spot for Sana, appreciating her dedication and kindness. The fact that Siddharth was inquiring about Sana sparked a mix of surprise and curiosity in her.
Siddharth continued,
"She seemed quite impressive. I couldn't help but notice how gracefully she manages everything."
Mohana's surprise was palpable. She had always admired Sana's strength and resilience, but she never anticipated that Siddharth, known for his charm and discerning nature, would take such an interest in her.
Sahil, catching the nuance of Siddharth's tone, added,
"Sana's been a rock for all of us. She's incredibly dedicated and has a big heart. She's helped us through so much."
Mohana, regaining her composure, nodded in agreement.
"Yes, she's a remarkable person. Sana has always been there for us, and she's someone who deserves the best."
Siddharth's eyes lingered thoughtfully on Mohana.
"I can see that. There's something about her that's truly captivating."
Mohana, still processing the unexpected turn in the conversation, felt a pang of protectiveness. Despite her admiration for Sana and the bond they shared, she had never felt possessive. Her concern was purely for Sana's well-being and happiness.
"Don't be surprised,"
Mohana said, her tone gently teasing.
"Sana has that effect on people. She's one of those rare individuals who leave a lasting impression."
Siddharth smiled, sensing Mohana's affection for Sana.
"It's clear she's special to you. I'd love to get to know her better, if that's alright."
Mohana's expression softened.
"Of course. She's a wonderful person. Just be mindful of her past. It's been a journey for her."
