"Is Ben there already?" Evie asks Mal, as they walk to the front of the school.
"Yes, he said he'd be there 15 minutes early to check if everything's ready," Mal informs her. "Are you nervous?"
"Just a tad," Evie admits. "I just hope everything's going to go smoothly and that she's going to like it here."
"She'll love it here, E, I can promise you that," Mal assures her.
"I know, I mean she's always wanted to come here," she says. "But maybe her expectations are too high, or it will all just disappoint her..."
"As long as you're here, I think she'll be alright," Mal tells her. "And she also has Celia, remember? She won't be alone here."
"Hey, you're late," Jay says, when his sisters finally join him by the stage. In front of it there has gathered a large group of people, who've all come out to support them.
"Sorry, Mr Miller was giving us a hard time for not paying attention," Mal apologises.
"Should've known..." Jay sighs. "Well, Ben and Carlos are doing the last checks on the screens and wires, and then we're all set to start."
"You're finally here," Ben says, pulling his fiancée into a hug. "I missed you."
"Well, it's been 2 hours since we've seen each other, I'd say that's a rather long time indeed," Mal agreed, holding him close.
"Ah, you're all here, good," Fairy Godmother says, walking up to the group. "Then we can finally begin." She walks up the stage and turns to the crowd, who finally quiet down; "Bippity-boppity, one two, one two, can everybody hear me?"
The people cheer enthusiastically, impatient for her to continue. Fairy Godmother signs Ben and Mal to come up, and hands the microphone to Ben. "Thank you, Fairy Godmother," he says, while Fairy Godmother gets off the stage. "What's up, Auradon!" The crowd cheers louder.
"Thank you so much for coming out today to welcome our new arrivals," Ben thanks his people. "They'll be here soon."
Mal notices Audrey in the crowd, looking as annoyed as her grandmother who's standing next to her, mumbling something.
"It worked out pretty well for the first four," Ben recalls.
"Yeah, especially for you," Chad says, cocky as always, not loud enough for them to actually hear it.
"Really funny," Audrey says, sarcastically, shutting him up instantly.
Ben turns to Mal, taking her hand. "Mal... this is the exact spot we first met, not so long ago," he says, looking into her eyes. "I feel like I've known you my whole life. But did I mention... I'm in love with you...?" Mal can feel her cheeks burning, smiling from ear to ear, and then he starts singing.
"I met this girl that rocked my world
Like it's never been rocked
And now I'm living just for her
And I won't ever stop
I never thought that it could happen to a guy like me
But now look at what you've done
You've got me"
"...Down on one knee..." he concludes his song, literally going down on one knee.
Mal puts her hand over her mouth and gasps.
"Mal, it's you and me... It's you and me forever," he says, taking out a little box.
Mal's heart is literally in her throat... Even though they were already engaged, this was just the most amazingly romantic surprise ever. To see him getting down on one knee, asking her to marry him in front of everyone they love...
