''Is it going to rain?'' Standing at the entrance of the manor, a murmur left her lips as she stared up at the blue sky gradually turning dark. The feeling the atmosphere emitted was a gloomy one.

''Young lady, the carriage is waiting.'' Raven lowered her gaze at lily's voice and the sight of the carriage greeted her sight.

''Thank you, lily.'' She beamed at lily on the side. At the same time, her red eyes unconsciously glanced to the maid's side. A fleeting image of an anxious-looking maid filled her mind.

If 'she' were alive, Raven could guess that 'she' would have been looking at her with worry and anxiety as though the main manor was a lair of death.

Well....it was, in a way.

'......' Wordlessly, Raven turned away and walked ahead to board the carriage. It didn't take time before lily and the other maids respectfully saw her off as the carriage wheeled away to the main manor.

Within a span of some minutes, Raven safely arrived at the main manor. Her eyes sharply caught the sight of some startled servants outside the manor through the glass window. Probably meeting her gaze, one of them was quick to scurry inside, perhaps to call for the head maid.

''Fourth young lady?'' The head maid was quick to appear with extra servants behind as she descended the carriage with support. A wide smile naturally appeared on Raven's lips as she acknowledged the latter's presence.

''Greetings head maid. I've come for an audience with father.''

''Ah...Yes, his excellency has been expecting your arrival, fourth young lady.'' What else could the head maid say? That the fourth young lady should have sent a letter beforehand before coming unexpectedly and out of nowhere?

Of course not.

She had no right to admonish her master's daughter, even if the latter was wrong.

''This way, fourth young lady.'' The head maid was quick to control her complicated emotions and led the smiling Raven into the main manor.

Besides, the personal butler of the grand duke, Hibro had informed her of the fourth young lady's visit anyway. It's just that she expected the fourth young lady to have sent a letter beforehand. The grand duke was a busy man, and she needed to abide by his schedule, even if he had requested for her presence.

Not only her, but the other young ladies and young masters were the same. Even the favored second young master would send a letter before appearing at the main manor. Though, there are exceptions like in the case of emergencies.

'I hope that maid has delivered my words to Hibro...' the head maid wondered, unconsciously tensing up at the presence behind her.

She couldn't help but heighten up her guard against the fourth young lady. It was better to be safe than sorry, even though she knew that the children of her master could never act against her.

The weak fourth young lady was no more. Rather, the person behind was another true descendant of the Langston family. Someone who might rival against the favored second young master.

''Fourth young lady, pardon this servant's insolence, but one can't help but ask about your health.'' The head maid begun a conversation in the silence. For her position, it wasn't out of line for to question to question the fourth young lady's health since it was widely known.

In the past few days, news had reached the ears within the estate of Langston family that unknown assailants had attacked that the fourth young lady and her company. How she made it back alive was through her elite slave, who had suddenly appeared with an unconscious fourth young lady in his arms without any carriage.
