" This is not the time," I sigh.

" It's totally the time," Jason complains in his Red Hood gear.

The UN's deadline is up, and today's the day. The chamber is steadily filling, getting ready for the next and possibly last televised session, " it's not my fault! I offered–"

" Sure, yeah, you offered, but you didn't explain that the library had a new Austen! Betrayal! Betrayed by my own brother!" Jason exclaims, hand clutching imaginary pearls.

" Oh shut up," I playfully swat. " Frighty, was everything in place when you left?" Unlike last time, I didn't have the chance to go over every last detail. Human responsibilities getting in the way. Due to Amity's abysmal education system and ghost attacks, I'm just a bit behind in my schooling. To combat this, Baba decided that summer school was necessary. Not that I'm complaining, but it's a lot at once. At least I'll be on par with everyone else, with the bonus of getting to test out of certain requirements. No foreign languages or astronomy classes for me.

" Yes, my king," Fright Knight replies. " They await your orders."

" Good. That's good," I say, slowly letting out an unneeded breath. Depending on the UN's decision, war could begin immediately with enough spirits on stand-by to squash any resistance. My eyes scan the room, finding my father easily. " Peepaw–"

" Too many possibilities, child. I am as blind as any other," Peepaw says sadly.

" I'm just worried," I whisper, " no limitals would be safe here. We'd need to take them to the realms, and they'd need us, but they wouldn't realize it. I don't want to be seen as a villain, as somebody's Dan. Amity would be fine in the end; they're used to ghosts, but the rest aren't. I... I don't want to fight family. Baba and the others would be pulled in two different directions... I feel like we've entered a bad timeline, Peepaw... I'm scared. What if we've made a mistake?"

Peepaw's eyes soften. "Oh, my child," they cup my cheeks. " Your actions are just. Have no fear in that. The right decisions are rarely easy."

" But why must this one be so hard?" my voice quivers.

" You are balance, Great One; your core is torn," Frostbite interjects. " You're empathetic to each side's plight."

I release myself from Peepaws' hold and rub at my eyes, " empathetic– more like pathetic. I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm getting all worked up now, especially here–"

" You're under a lot of stress; this is either the climax or resolution," Jason tries to explain, the literature nerd.

"Don't hero's journey me," I say, watching everyone get in their places. Representatives are looking at papers and settling; prep time is up. " Let's just hope we're not starting the Apocalypse." Our delegation awaits patiently as attendance is taken– it's a full house.

"Settle down, come to order," the UN president says, banging a gavel. " It's time for today's session on July XX, 20XX, to come to order." It becomes quiet within moments. " First, we welcome King Phantom and his delegation back into our humble chamber this afternoon."

I give a polite, acknowledging nod to them.

" Today's business involves resolutions from our meeting on June XX, 20XX, a month ago today," they pause and take out a paper, " on our agenda today includes; the resolution on those agreeing to add ghosts, Ecto-entities to The Meta Protection Act, the United States of America's rejection or compliance with King Phantoms demands. All other matters will be handled in enclosed chambers. King phantom, before our Council comes to vote, do you have any other words for this governing body?"
