Astraea, Midoriya and All might sat in UA's lounge, the silence deafening between them.
It had been a while since Astraea had grown concerned about Midoriya, not knowing the spirits she's seen surrounding his own are because of his quirk. He wanted to keep it a secret for his mentors sake but when she noticed All might within the embers of One for All, he couldn't hold it any longer
"So you've passed your power to Midoriya which you've got from someone else and it was passed down for generations stockpiling power through every user? And the golden soul is your embers in One for all slowly appearing because the powers fading in you?"
All might slumped in his seat sighing, "That pretty much sums it up".
She shifted in her seat, her elbows resting on her knees "All might I deeply respect you, no doubt about it, but don't you think this is a lot to handle?"
Midoriya looked at her with confusion, "What do you mean?"
"Midoriya I'm not saying you're unable to handle the power, I'm talking about the stress and conflict." She knew that this power had more secrets that they haven't shared but with what she knew now, he's trying to fit the shoes of the number one hero while only a first year in high school while still learning how it works.
"One for all in All might's words, was designed many years ago and passed down through different users and kept alive for an unknown reason and now it was passed to you with a goal in mind. Whatever that goal is, there's a lot of pressure with this quirk Midoriya"
"I know that but—"
"You don't because if you did consider it, you wouldn't have took it right away." He stood silent. She was right, he took his power with no hesitation because his dreams outweighed his logic.
"You're strong but I just don't want anyone hurting you. A quirk like that makes you a target and once someone finds out your power was his, there are endless possibilities of what could happen." She placed a hand on his, her eyes glistening softly,
"What happens then?" He squeezed her hand tightly
"Astraea, you don't have to be worried about me."
"No but I do, you gave me everything Midoriya and your mother too, so I have to protect you both." Midoriya noticed a pattern; every person that helps her, she feels obligated to protect and acts as if it's her job, like a bodyguard.
The time she spent with Rody's father, she tried keeping his wish alive, she felt obligated to protect Rody and his siblings because of Eddie, she felt obligated to protect Dex as he gave her a home.
"You're someone who needs protecting too, Astraea. You don't have to dedicate your life to protecting people who help you. We helped you because we wanted to and there's nothing you have to offer in return except enjoying your second chance."
She snickered shaking her head as All might and Midoriya raised their eyebrows in confusion
"Guess it's a bad time to tell you my hero name" Midoriya's eyes lit up as he grabbed his notebook
"Oh my gosh! What is it?! You gotta tell me please!" He bounced in his seat laughing insanely, All might shaking his head as he chuckled at his pupils excitement
"Alright alright sit down" He sat patiently like an excited puppy as she gave him her phone with a website on greek mythology displayed on the screen
