The days following Mingyu’s confession were filled with a whirlwind of wedding preparations. Jeonghan and Seungcheol were preoccupied with finalizing details, leaving Wonwoo with plenty of time to reflect on everything that had happened.
One evening, after a particularly long day of coordinating flowers and finalizing the guest list, Wonwoo found himself alone in his room, staring at the ceiling. His thoughts kept drifting back to Mingyu’s confession.
“I like you, Wonwoo.A lot.”
The words echoed in his mind, stirring up a mix of emotions. At first, Wonwoo had been taken aback, unsure of how to process Mingyu’s admission. But now, as he replayed the moments they had shared—the laughs, the teasing, the genuine concern Mingyu had shown—he began to see things more clearly.
Mingyu had been persistent, yes, but also kind and considerate. He had gone out of his way to help with the wedding, always finding excuses to spend time with Wonwoo. The playful banter and flirtation had initially been annoying, but gradually, Wonwoo had found himself looking forward to their interactions.
A memory surfaced: Mingyu catching him when he had fallen from the stool. Wonwoo had felt a rush of emotions in that moment, a sense of safety and warmth that he hadn’t fully acknowledged at the time. Then there were all the thoughtful gestures Mingyu had made, which had softened Wonwoo’s attitude towards him. Mingyu’s playful side had won him over during the theme park outing.
As he reflected, Wonwoo realized that he had been denying his own feelings, too focused on guarding his heart to see what was right in front of him. Mingyu’s sincerity had slowly broken down his defenses, and now, Wonwoo could no longer ignore the truth.
He had fallen for Mingyu.
The realization hit him with a mix of relief and trepidation. Allowing himself to feel something for Mingyu meant opening up and taking a risk. But wasn’t that what Mingyu had done for him? Mingyu had laid his feelings bare, hoping that Wonwoo might reciprocate.
Wonwoo sat up, his mind made up. He couldn’t keep Mingyu at arm’s length any longer. It was time to acknowledge his feelings and take a step forward, no matter how uncertain it felt.
With a newfound sense of determination, Wonwoo decided that he would find a way to express his feelings to Mingyu. He knew it wouldn’t be easy, but he owed it to both of them to be honest and see where their connection could lead.
As he lay back down, a sense of peace washed over him. For the first time in a long while, Wonwoo felt hopeful about the future, eager to explore the possibilities that lay ahead with Mingyu. He slowly started falling asleep, with the thoughts of Mingyu in his mind.
