The house buzzed with excitement as Jeonghan and Seungcheol’s wedding preparations reached their peak. Flowers were delivered, decorations were hung, and the atmosphere was filled with a mix of anticipation and joy. Wonwoo found himself caught up in the whirlwind of activities, but his mind was occupied with a different kind of excitement.
After much reflection, Wonwoo had made a decision. He was going to give Mingyu a chance and confess his feelings. With everything happening around him, it seemed like the perfect time to embrace new beginnings.
One sunny afternoon, while Jeonghan and Seungcheol were busy with the caterers, Wonwoo spotted Mingyu in the backyard, helping set up a marquee. Mingyu’s focus was intense as he worked, but a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth whenever he looked up.
Summoning his courage, Wonwoo walked over, his heart pounding. “Hey, Mingyu,” he called out, trying to keep his voice steady.
Mingyu looked up, his face lighting up at the sight of Wonwoo. “Hey, Wonwoo! What’s up?”
Wonwoo took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to say. “Can we talk for a minute?”
“Sure,” Mingyu replied, setting down the decorations he was holding. He followed Wonwoo to a quieter spot in the garden, curiosity and concern etched on his face. “What’s on your mind?”
Wonwoo fidgeted with his hands, searching for the right words. “I’ve been thinking a lot about us. About how persistent you’ve been and how you’ve always been there, even when I pushed you away.”
Mingyu nodded, his expression softening. “I meant every word, Wonwoo. I care about you a lot.”
“I know,” Wonwoo said, finally meeting Mingyu’s eyes. “And I’ve come to realize that I care about you too. More than I thought I did.”
Mingyu’s eyes widened in surprise and hope. “Really?”
“Really,” Wonwoo confirmed, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. “I want to give us a chance. I want to see where this goes.”
A wide grin spread across Mingyu’s face as he stepped closer, taking Wonwoo’s hands in his. “You have no idea how happy that makes me. I promise I won’t let you down.”
Wonwoo smiled, feeling a warmth spread through him. “I know you won’t. Let’s take things one step at a time and see where this leads.”
Mingyu nodded, his eyes shining with affection. “One step at a time. I can do that.”
As they stood there, hands intertwined, Wonwoo felt a sense of calm and excitement for the future. They had taken the first step towards something new, and he was ready to see where this journey would take them.
The rest of the afternoon passed in a blur of activity and newfound happiness. With their feelings now out in the open, Wonwoo and Mingyu found themselves drawn closer together, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment.
As evening fell and the preparations for the wedding continued, Wonwoo looked around at the bustling scene, feeling a sense of contentment. This was just the beginning of a new chapter in his life, and with Mingyu by his side, he was ready to embrace whatever came next.
