Emily "what are you doing up this early"? JJ "I couldn't really sleep, so I thought I'd come down here and maybe write down in my journal how I'm feeling", Emily "still having nightmares about the case aren't you", JJ "yeah. I can't get it out of my head no matter how hard I try. I've been trying to see the good that happened. Our children being reunited with us but for some reason I still can't get William out of my mind", Emily "I would be lying if I said I didn't have a nightmare, I still remember the whole day", JJ "and it's not just William. I keep thinking about what would have been the outcome had I pulled the trigger on my firearm. Going to prison, being away from you and the kids, it all flooded through my mind", Emily "you don't have to worry about that. You're okay, you didn't pull your trigger, stop having nightmares about that, you didn't hurt him", JJ "I wanted to hurt him. I wanted him to hurt the way he hurt me, I wanted him to feel all the pain he put me through, I wanted him to go through it. I didn't wanna let him off easy, I wanted him to honestly get tortured, so he could see what it's like. I have been so trapped, so guarded because of everything he's ever put me through, I'm afraid to just be me, do you know he would say I love you right after telling me he was sorry for beating me or hurting me. I love you has a different and more deeper meaning coming from you but when it came from him, it was a form of an apology", Emily "JJ I'm sorry. For everything he's ever put you through but you no longer have to worry about him, he can't hurt you anymore. I've got you, I'm gonna keep holding you down and I'll keep telling you that you're lovable and that you're good enough to be loved. Don't worry about him, don't think about him, he's an asshole, and he's gonna rot in prison for the rest of his life, that's a promise. There is way too much evidence, he couldn't deny any of it even if he wanted to, he wouldn't stand a chance against the team and the testimonies we could use", JJ "I'm just thinking about what happened. Babe u don't understand I seriously can't get it out of my head and that's all I want", Emily "babe", JJ "yes", Emily "you're shaking", JJ "I know. I just told you I can't stop thinking about it and it's making me freak out", Emily "just try not to think about it", Emerson screamed loudly, so terrified she fell off of her bed, Emily and JJ rushed to her room. JJ "baby what happened", she flinched at JJ's touch, Emily "nightmare", JJ "did you have a nightmare sweetheart", Emerson nodded her head and tightly wrapped her arms around JJ, JJ "it's okay sweetie", Emily "first you and now her", JJ "babe you can't blame us", Emily "I'm not blaming you or her. All of us are traumatized, it's all gonna hit us hard eventually", Emerson "mommy", JJ "it's okay baby. I'm here, I'm right here, me and mama are here", there was a knock at the door. Emily "did you invite anyone over", JJ "no, even if I did it wouldn't at this time. It's way too early in the morning. How about you princess help mommy make some breakfast, does that sound good", she said tickling her, Emerson "yeah", she said after chuckling, Emily went to the door, and opened it. Emily "oh my goodness", Derek "hey Em", Emily "oh my gosh, what are you doing here", she said hugging him, Derek "the team told me what happened, they told me everything", Emily invited him in, JJ "what a pleasant surprise", she said hugging him, Derek "how are the two of you holding up", Emily "I'm alright", JJ "I haven't been able to catch any sleep, I've been up all night and keep having nightmares and flashbacks", Derek "so you two finally decided to give your relationship a shot", JJ "yeah", Emily "yeah, we did. Did Penelope send you", Derek "yeah, she said she was worried about the two of you and that the both of you have been a bit off", Emily "of course we've been off, our children were literally kidnapped", Derek "how are the boys", JJ "they are good, asleep still", Derek "and who is this beauty", Emily "this is Emerson, can you say hi sweetie", Emerson "hi, are you mommy and mama's friend", Derek "I am, I used to work with them", Emerson "you are the one that aunt Penelope calls chocolate thunder", Emily and JJ busted out laughing, Emily "oh my gosh, do you remember when we had the sexually harassment meeting, and all of the names you and Penelope called each other appeared on the white board", Derek "that was definitely one of the most embarrassing moments I've been through lol", Emily "how's Savanah", Derek "she's good, really good. She just got a promotion at work, and Hank just started 2nd grade and our princess started kindergarten, everything is great", Emily "we definitely have to plan like a trip, it's been so long since we've hung out and we definitely should rekindle our friendships", Derek "I totally agree with the both of you", Henry "mom", JJ "good morning buddy. Did you sleep okay", Henry "yeah, uncle Derek", Derek "hey kid", he said hugging him, JJ and Emily finished cooking breakfast with the help from their daughter. Emily "do you wanna stay for breakfast", Derek "I'd love to", they all had breakfast. After Derek left, JJ "today we have to go back to school shopping, new school, new everything", Emily "yeah", Emily and JJ changed the kids schools, the school is now much more closer to their house and closer to their job headquarters.
