He turned away from Hyunwoo's lifeless body, his mind racing as he tried to come to terms with the possible truth that Jeonghan had been lying to him and using him for his own reasons.
He knew he had to confront Jeonghan, but he dreaded the thought of discovering the truth. With a heavy heart, he signaled for his team to follow him out of the room, steeling himself for the difficult conversation ahead.
As they walked out of the room, Seungcheol's mind was a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts and emotions. He didn't know what he would find when he confronted Jeonghan, and the thought of discovering something dark and sinister made him feel nauseous.
He knew he had to stay rational and keep his emotions in check. But it was hard to push down the anger and hurt he felt at the thought of Jeonghan's betrayal. As he walked, he tried to come up with what he would say to Jeonghan and how he would approach the conversation.
The drive back to their mansion felt like an eternity to Seungcheol. He tried to keep his thoughts focused on the road ahead, but his mind kept wandering back to Jeonghan and the conversation he knew he had to have with him.
The moon was high in the sky as they approached the familiar gates of the mansion, the surrounding trees casting dark shadows in the dim light.
The members of Seungcheol's team were also feeling the effects of the long, difficult mission they had just completed. They were tired and haggard, their eyes bloodshot and their muscles aching from the constant tension and strain.
As they got out of the car and walked towards the front door, they all exchanged weary glances, each one knowing that the night was far from over.
Seungcheol led the way, his shoulders slumped and his demeanor weary. He tried to ignore the way his heart was racing with dread and anticipation, but it was impossible to keep his nerves at bay.
Seungcheol nodded to his team, silently telling them to go and get some rest. They nodded back, knowing that their leader needed to talk to Jeonghan alone.
Only Joshua stayed behind, knowing that Seungcheol would need his support for the difficult conversation ahead.
As the rest of the team walked away towards their respective rooms, Seungcheol took a deep breath, bracing himself for the inevitable confrontation. He knew that Jeonghan was somewhere in the mansion, and he dreaded the thought of the conversation he was about to have.
With Joshua standing quietly by his side, Seungcheol walked through the darkened halls, heading towards Jeonghan's room.
The mansion was eerily quiet as they walked, the only sound coming from their footsteps echoing off the hardwood floors. The dim lighting cast long shadows, making the already ominous atmosphere even more foreboding.
As they approached Jeonghan's bedroom door, Seungcheol's heart was pounding in his chest. He knew he couldn't avoid this conversation any longer.
He slowly opened the door. Seungcheol felt his heart squeeze as he saw Jeonghan sitting on the edge of Haneul's bed, talking quietly to the little boy. Jeonghan was smiling, his voice soft and soothing as he told Haneul a bedtime story.
Standing in the doorway, Seungcheol couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness and confusion. The scene in front of him was at odds with the doubts and suspicions that had been nagging at him all evening.
He watched as Jeonghan finished the story, tucking Haneul under the covers and pressing a small kiss to the boy's forehead. Jeonghan then turned, his eyes widening slightly when he saw Seungcheol standing in the doorway.
Jeonghan immediately noticed the weary and conflicted look on Seungcheol's face, and a flicker of concern crossed his own. He got up from Haneul's bed, walking towards Seungcheol with a mixture of caution and worry.
