There is a 3 month time skip between the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2.

Owen: Paul! I know she only wwnt last week but how's Ev doing on maternity leave?
Paul: Honestly Cap you know what she's like she's bored out her mind. She keeps trying to put the nursery together and I keep saying to wait until me and Judd can get a day of work to help.
Owen: I hope your keeping an eye on her and the baby?
Paul: I am, I keep telling her to rest look after herself and the baby before she comes.
Owen: Well of you need any he.... oh no.
Mateo: YO!! What are you doing here?
Ev: Thanks Mateo I was trying to sneak in.
Marjan: Sneak in with him here? Yeah good one Ev, girl what you doing here.
Paul: Good question.
Ev: I promise I'll stay on a chair or on the sofa or on a bed i just can't stay home by myself I'm so bored.
Owen: Well I dont see why it would hurt I mean its probably better for her to be around people just incase.
Paul: Okay but you're still taking it easy.
They gey called to the tank call. Ev is sat at the station watching it unfold on the news.  On their next shift.
Tim: Well if you ask me what she did was incredibly selfish.
Marjan: What are we talking about?
Nancy: Michelle.
Paul: Again.
Mateo: What did she do?
TK: Same thing.
Tim: She quit.
Marjan: She did not quit she gave up her occupation in pursuit of her vocation, and I admire that.
Mateo: Dont those mean the same thing?
Marjan: Hell no. A vocation is much more than just a job.
Ev: It's more like a calling.
Mateo: Well I feel like being a firefighters my calling.
Paul: And some of us are lucky when the two line up. But when they don't?
TK: You gotta make a choice.
Nancy: Which Captain Blake did.
Tim: Which was incredibly selfish.
Nancy: Right, Tim, she selfishly gave up job security to dedicate her life to helping mentally ill people living in the streets-- people like her sister. What a monster.
Nancy, Marjan and Ev Chuckle.
Tim: She abandoned us, Nancy, for some new random captain who hasn't been on the job in, like, forever? You realise how much EMS has changed since 2013?
Ev: Watch your mouth there, it may have changed but the job aspect hasn't not really keep the patients alive and get them to the hospital. That was the same in 2013.
Marjan: I remember 2013.
Paul: Live concerts.
TK: Nightclubs.
Mateo: Hugs.
Paul: You want a hug, probie?
Mateo: I need a hug.
Paul: You should've asked. I'll give you a hug, dude.
Ev: Alright leave him alone.
All: Laugh.
Tim: Okay. Cool.
Judd: Ev come on I found this in Tommy's truck come on.
Judd: Hey girl, I found this in your truck.
Tommy: Juddy. Ev, hey girl.
Judd: Oh! You have no idea how hard it is to social distance at this particular moment.
Tommy: I appreciate that.
Ev: Social distance hug.
Judd: So, Owen, this is my good friend, Tommy. She also happens to be the best EMS captain in all of Texas.
Owen: We've met.
Ev: Oh, you think you have. Wait till you see her work. Sorry I can't be out there with you today but I know you'll do amazingly.
Tommy: All right, let's not raise any unrealistic expectations. All right?
Judd&Ev: She's very modest.
Judd: Did I ever tell you Cap, that Tommy did me the supreme kindness of introducing me to my wife?
Owen: Many times.
Judd: Well, it's still true.
Owen: Well I'll let you settle in, let you guys catch up. Captain, welcome to the 126.
Ev: If you'll excuse me, I need to pee.
Ev heads back down to the team before they get called to the roller Derby accident. After that they go on a couple of calls but nothing too serious, uts the next day they're all off and are hanging out at Carlos'. Marjan and Paul are playing a video game Ev and Carlos are in the kitchen and there's a knock at the door.
Mateo: I got it, man.
TK: Hey.
Mateo: You get the cheeseballs?
TK: No, I didn't get the cheeseballs.
Mateo: Why not?
TK: Because Mateo, my boyfriend goes to alot of trouble to make is healthy snacks and provides us with a safe place for us to gather so we can at least have some human interactio  in this uncertain age, and I'm not gonna spoil that with cheeseballs. Also, I forgot.
Paul: Did you remember the orange juice?
TK: yeah, I got it.
Mateo: Oh, you remember the orange juice but you forget the cheeseballs.
Ev: Oh for goodness sake here, boot of my car you will find cheese balls towards the back.... what it's a craving.
Marjan: Its not like they have all the orange stuff in the same corner of the market, probie.
Carlos: You seem a little stressed.
TK: Is it that noticeable?
Marjan: I noticed. And I'm pretty sure I haven't looked at you since you walked in.
Paul: I noticed her noticing.
Mateo: I got the cheeseballs.
TK: Had some trouble getting out of the house.
Marjan: Again?
Paul: That's still going on?
TK: Oh, if anything, it's worse.
The scene of Owen and Gwyn arguing happens.
Marjan: So why is she still here?
Ev: Yeah, doesn't she run a big law firm in New York?
TK: Well New York was rough at first and like most people she's taking her meetings online and she doesn't have to be anywhere. Plus, my dad got cancer. She wanted to come and support him. 
Paul: By giving him another tumor?
Catlos: I dont know. I've seen them together. I think they like the sparring. They're pretty well matched.
TK: Oh, there is no sparring. Nobody's wearing gloves.
The scene of the them sleeping together is here. The next day they are back on shift, they get called to the cell tower call. Ev is sleeping on one of the bunks. Back at the fore house after that call.
Judd: Hey look who's awake.
Ev: Haha funny.
Marjan: Yo Judd I think me and Captain Vegas could get along.
Judd: Who couldn't after that even Tim gave her a break.
Ev: Why? What did she do apart from being amazing.
Tim: She performed surgery 100 feet up whilst getting shot at.
Ev: Woah, wait what?
Tommy: Iys just what I trained for.
Owen: Ah she's being modest.
Ev: Oh, i know she is.
They spend the rest of the day around the fire house only getting called out to a few more calls. Its now their day off and Judd and Paul are finally helping put the nursery together
Judd: I need a screw.
Ev: There's no more screws in the box.
Judd: Paul do you have one of my screws?
Paul: Why would I have one of your screws.
Judd: Ugh I'm gonna have to start again.
Ev: This may take longer than one day.
Paul: Yeah I think next time we should bring in reinforcements.
Judd: Lets just get what we can get done today done.
They get the cot built and the rocking chair but not much more. Its the next day and they are back on shift. They get called to the choking scene and a few smaller calls. That night Ev, Judd and Grace go round to Tommy's.
Grace: Hey ya'll. We brought some cheesecake.
Tommy: Well, what are you doing here at this hour?
Judd: You said you wanted a little Jack. Well, I brought a lot of Jack. Anybody who makes a save like that their first week back, and they're clears throat gonna celebrate that. That's....
Tommy: You didn't have to do that.
Charles: You really didn't.
Ev: And we're not going to. This is for you.
Tommy: No, no, no, no. Come on. Stop. Come on in. I'll get some plates. We'll talk about calling ahead.
