Saving Grace.

During the first flashback a younger Stuart arrives at the hospital with baby Evelyn in a car seat. This was just after Judd's mum died and Evelyn was born.
Younger Stuart: Son.
Younger Judd: Dad. Its all my fault.
Younger Stuart: Talk about this when we get home. Judd.
Just before Grace and Judd leave when Stuart calls Judd.
Judd: Hey, Daddy, we're about to step out the door.
Stuart: Well, step back in. There's bad weather coming through.
Ev: Yeah roads were a mess 1.5 hours ago when we were coming everyone trying to get home before the weather hits.
Grace: Now, Dad, dont you even start. It's your birthday, you just got your second vaccination,and you haven't seen your son in almost a year now. And Ev Ryder stop encouraging him.
Judd: Alright, we're coming.
Stuart laughs.
Ev: Just be extra careful then.
After the truck sinks Ev's pov:
Me, Paul and Nia were at dad's house. We had just tried to warn Judd and Grace about not coming because of the bad weather but they didn't listen. Daddy was busy in the kitchen when the phone started ringing.
Ev: I got it Dad. Hello this is Stuart Ryders phone.
Unknown: Am I talking to a Mr Stuart Ryder?
Ev: No but i am his daughter, he can't get to the phone right now can I take a message?
Unknown: I'm very sorry to be the one to tell you this but a Mr Juddson Ryder and Mrs Grace Ryder were just brought in to the hospital.
Ev: No- no that can't be, I talked to them like twenty minutes ago.
Unknown: I'm really sorry they're at West Park memorial.
Ev: Uhm, okay yeah we're on our way thank you. Paul, Dad we gotta go now.
Stuart: What happened?
Ev: It's Judd and Grace they've been taken to the hospital. I dont know whats happened but they're at West Park memorial.
Paul: But the weather out there its so bad.
Ev: Then I'll just have to drive carefully, will you please go get Nia strapped in to her car seat, Dad get your shoes and coat on lets go. The sooner we get there the sooner we can find out what's happened. I'm gonna call Owen, TK's still in the hospital so maybe he's already there. Hi Cap are you visiting TK at the hospital?
Owen: Its Owen when we're not on shift please and yes me, Tommy and Carlos are here.
Ev: Grace and Judd have been brought into the same hospital im not sure what's happened as of yet, will you please just go and try and get an update we're on our way but with the weather its gonna take us longer than usual.
Owen: Yeah ofcourse me and Tommy will head there now, I'll call Paul when I know something?
Ev: Yeah im gonna be driving, also can you call the rest of the 126 for me please.
Owen: I'm on it, you guys just focus on getting here safely.
A little bit later. Judd's pov:
Owen: Judd?
Judd: clears throat. Where am I?
Tommy: West Park Memorial.
Owen: There was an accident.
Judd: Where's Grace? Where's my wife? Cap, Where's my girl at?
Ev: Omg your awake?
Tommy: Only just.
Stuart: How are you feeling Son?
Paul: We've all been really worried about you and Grace....
Ev: Where's Grace? What happened?
Owen: There was an accident, we're not sure why but it looks like someone might have run them off the road on the Lamar bridge. Judd and Grace were trapped in the truck in the river. When the rescue got there they were both out cold, but Grace's legs were pinned. It took them an extra six minutes to get her out of the water that it took them to get Judd out. She's in a worser shape.
Ev: Omg.
Owen: The rest of the 126 are here, Paul why don't we leave these guys too it.
Judd: It was six minutes. She was pinned underwater for six minutes before swift water rescue got to her.
Tommy: I know.
Judd: You can get brain damage in four.
Ev: You can, you can. But there have been people that have been under for seven, even eight minutes without permanent brain damage.
Tommy: The water was cold. That worked in her favour.
Judd: sighs heavily. I couldn't get her out of there, man. I wasn't strong enough. I-I couldn't save her, I couldn't lift her.
Tommy: - Judd...
Judd: I got spooked. I saw the-the lights coming and I shouldn't have swerved the truck into a river.
Ev: JUDD!! Do you really think either one of you would be coming out of this better after a head-on collision?
Judd: Is she coming out of it? Silence. Clatters.
Tommy: Listen to me. Listen. Look at me. Okay we have to be positive about this, right?
Judd nods.
Tommy: All right. She's alive. She's a fighter. She laid you out.
Judd: With one punch.
Tommy: One punch. Dont you dare underestimate our girl.
Judd: I never have.
A little bit later.
Doctor: Okay Mr Ryder you can go and see your wife now, her parents are already in there.
Ev: We'll be in the waiting room if you need us.
Tommy: We're here with you for as long as you and Gracie need.
A little bit later.
Mateo: Hey we got the food.
Marjan: Where's Judd.
Ev: Where do you think?
Tommy: I'll go and get him. At Grace's room, Tommy knocks. Foods here.
Owen: There he is.
TK: Hey Judd.
Marjan: You look good.
Mateo: How you feeling?
Judd: Uh, I feel like-like my truck got hit by a river.
Laughter.
Judd: Cap, good to see you man. Oh, well, oh. Look at all this good grub y'all brought, too. Wow.
TK: We didn't really know what to get,  so we sort of got everything.
Ev: Abit OTT if you ask me but hey who's complaining.
Judd: That-That's all right. I'm, you know, im in the mood for everything, so, wow. Thank you. I'll tell you what, im gonna get, uh.... This is Gracie's favourite, so I'm gonna cut a little peace for Grace. So that, uh,... when she, when she, when she wakes up, just... she's probably gonna have a big appetite. So I'll just keep it here..... sighs. Just.... I'll just, uh.... exhales. Thank you guys for being, for being here, you know. For both of us, thank you very much.
Judd and Owen hug before all the 126 apart from the two captains have a hug. Carlos joins in too.
Judd: We doing a group one?
Paul: Mm- hmm.
TK: All right, we got you.
Judd: Thank you.
Banks: Hey Reyes.
Carlos: Hey Banks. Carter. What are you guys doing here?
Banks: Had to interview some drunk who plowed his SUV into a convenience store this morning. Looks like the same guy may have ran some folks off the Lamar Bridge last night.
Carlos: Wait, he's here?
Banks: Yeah. Banged up his leg. Other than that nothing else, not a scratch. Drunks, right? All right, see you around.
Owen: Hey. You good?
Judd: I'm g... No, im good. I'm good, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Its in the Lords hands now. He knows what he's doing. Yes, sir.
While the scene with Judd and Caleb is happening.
Ev: Hey Where's Judd?
TK: He was right there.
Owen: Oh no.
Carlos: hey im a police officer the guy who plowed through a convenience store this morning busted up his leg I need his room number right now.
Doctor: Juddson Ryder?
Ev: He's just gone to the bathroom.
Doctor: Well when he gets back can you tell him that his wife is alert and talking and asking for him?
Ev: I'll pass that on.
Nurse: Room 267 its just down the hall.
Tommy: Ev go see Grace I'll go get him.
Owen: I'll go with you.

Ev: Hey Gracie, you gave us all quite a scare.
Grace: Ev, Where's my husband?
Ev: Tommy and Owen have gone to get him he'll be here.
Grace: Where are my parents?
Ev: They're out getting some air they've been here since it happened too, they finally listened to Tommy.
When Judd gets to Grace's room, Ev leaves giving Grace, Judd and her parents some time. Out in the hall Ev's pov.
Mateo is praying. Everyone else is just sat around waiting for news Paul is doing laps with Nia in the pram trying to get her to sleep.

Judd: Hey, y'all.
Mateo: Hey.
Owen: Hey.
Ev: Hey.
Stuart: How's my favourite daughter in law doing?
Judd: She's doing good, Daddy. She's doing real good.
Stuart: Then how come your crying?
Judd whispers something in dads ear. Paul finally got Nia to sleep.
Stuart: Laughs. Oh, hell, son.
Judd: 'Cause he gonna be a granddaddy again.
Owen: What?
All: Cheering, and laughing. And clapping.
Judd: So happy birthday.
Judd and Tommy hug.
Owen: Congratulations. Come on 126. Bring it in here.
Judd and Owen hug.
Judd and Ev hug.
Judd and TK hug.
