Hold the Line/ Birth

The 126 have just been called to the wildfire, Ev is at home. For a couple of days everything feels and is fine. On the phone.

Grace: Girl are you struggling as much as I am without your man 'cause honestly this is killing me.
Ev: Oh I hear ya girl honestly feel like I could pop any minute.
Grace: Take it easy Ev, pace yourself you still have a whole month of this.
Ev: Yeah well hopefully Paul will be back by then. OWH!
Grace: Ev what was that?
Ev: I'm sure its nothing, Owh!!
Grace: Evelyn Ryder I'm coming over there right now!! I need to get intouch with Tommy, stay where you are im on my way I'll call back in just a minute.
Grace hangs up the phone with Ev and calls Tommy.
Grace: Tommy I need you to get to Ev's house immediately i think she's gone into premature labour, I know Tim's funeral is in a couple of days b....
Tommy: This is now, I'm on my way when you get there get towels and cool water, I'll examine her as soon as I get there.
Grace: Got it T, I'm gonna call Ev back I'll see you there.
At Ev's house.
Grace: Ev, what are you doing?
Ev: I told Paul of anything happened whilst he was away i.e going into labour i would film it so that technically he doesn't miss the birth of his kid.
Grace: Well we will film what we can, alright now I need you to lay down on the sofa Tommy is on her way she's gonna examine you when she gets here but I need to get a few bits ready.
Ev: Grace are me and the baby gonna be okay?
Grace: Hey you have faith in Tommy right? She's gonna do everything she can its gonna be okay we are going to be here every minute for you.
Tommy: Hey, how we doing?
Ev: I'm in agony, help me.
Tommy: Woah okay, what with the camera?
Grace: Oh you don't even wanna know.
Tommy: Okay how about we get this examination started. Okay the baby's crowning you're gonna have to give birth here, I'm gonna call an ambulance to be here as soon as you've delivered your baby.
Ev: So I can film it?
Tommy: Uhmm yeah sure, listen you remember your classes try not to scream it just wastes energy.
Ev: Why would anyone have another kid after this.
Tommy: The question everyone asks in this situation. Okay your 10 cm on your next contraction I need you to push.
1 hour later.
Tommy: Push, push, push. Come on one more.
Grace: You've got this Ev, you can do this.
Ev: I really can't do this!!
Grace: Hey yes you can, you can do this.
Ev: AGHHH!!
Tommy: Keep going, Keep going good, good. She's here!
Ev crys whilst Tommy and Grace clean up the baby as best they could. Tommy hands the baby to Ev as the paramedics come in.
Paramedic: We are gonna get her and the baby to the hospital stat with her being a premie.
Grace: Hey Ev it's okay we're gonna follow in the car im gonna drop Tommy off at the hospital and then im going to go and pick your dad up okay bring him to the hospital.
Tommy: Yeah I'll see you at the hospital.
When Tommy gets to the hospital.
Tommy: Hey where is she?
Ev: They took her to the premie ward they're gonna come and get me once they've settled her and done all the tests and her vitals.
Tommy: This gonna abe your room?
Ev: Yeah until they discharge us when she's ready.
Tommy: When i next talk to any of the 126 at the wildfire I'll make sure the message gets passed on.
Stuart: There's my baby girl, Where's my grand baby??
Ev: She's in the neonatal unit dad, its where all the premature baby's go.
Stuart: Well I'm not leaving your side until that boyfriend of yours gets back.
Ev: Thankyou Daddy.
Two evenings after Tommy and Owen have their phone call, Owen tells her he will tell Paul as soon as it is safe for him to do so. Once the 118 had left and the episode ends.
Tommy: Hey there's my favourite firefighters.
Judd: Yo what's happening T.
Tommy: Actually if its alright with Owen you need to leave right now.
Judd: What? Why?
Paul: Ev had the baby?
Tommy: She did about 3 nights ago, Gracie and your dad was supposed to be staying with her but I bet Carlos is there too.
Owen: Off you go, you two go see your sister and baby and niece.
Marjan: Give Ev love from me.
Mateo: Yeah tell her as soon as we get back into town we'll come and see her.
Paul: Yeah we will, bye guys see you soon.
At the hospital.
Carlos: Hey there's my favourite patient.
Ev: Yoh know you and Grace didn't have to do opposite shifts I had my dad.
Carlos: You can never have too many people, besides Grace's boss was so chill with it.
Ev: What did you bring for me today?
Carlos: Wow, I brought you a wordsearch book pass the time. YAYYY. I'm kidding obviously I brought you that magazine you like so much.
Ev: Omg yes. Did I tell you they're gonna bring her in here for a bit today see how she copes.
Carlos: I know, I knew she would be a fighter you Ryder's always are.
Paul: Ev!! I am so sorry.
Ev: Hey its okay we knew this might happen, I filmed it like I promised.
Judd: Congrats sis.
Ev: None of you come near me, look you both need to go home and have showers you can't be near her stinking like smoke. I know you only just got here but today is the first day she's coming out of neonatal unit and everything has to be perfect. I'm sure you would rather hold her than just look at her from in the corridor. Go on go home have a shower and change your clothes. Maybe bring some lunch with you when you come back.
Judd: We're on it, we'll be an hour tops.
Ev: See you then love you both.
Judd: Love you too sis.
Paul: Love you too.
