One month later, May 11, back at Chicago, where its spring here already.
A refreshing and cool morning here in Kilbourn Park. It's the perfect setting for an early workout. I pulled myself up on the bar, doing fifty pull-ups. After I managed to finish, the burn in my arms signaling it was time to stop.
I dropped down, grabbing my water bottle and taking a long sip, feeling the satisfying coolness slide down my throat. As I wiped the sweat from my brow, I spotted the old sweeper making his rounds and gave him a nod.
"Good morning," I called out, and he waved back with a smile before continuing down the path.
I leaned against the bench, catching my breath as I pulled out my phone. Feeling in good spirits, I snapped a quick selfie and sent it to Sydney with a playful message
Paris:"Morning, boo! Just finished my workout. How are you doing?"
Knowing she was probably still asleep, I wasn't expecting a quick reply. But barely a minute passed before my phone buzzed with her response.
Sydney:"Good morning to you too, boo Paris!"
Sydney:"You woke me up! 😂"
She wrote.
Sydney: "But I'm not mad at all. Loving the post-workout glow 😍. Guess your message is my new alarm clock, huh? Thanks for that, by the way 😂."
I couldn't help but laugh at her response.
Paris: "Glad I could be of service 😉"
I replied, adding a wink emoji.
As I pocketed my phone, it buzzed again—this time with an email notification. I opened it and saw it was from Fleur de Lens, my internship company in New York.
