Betrayal happens and the hotel is revealed as a facade for an interdimensional machine, as it is powered up but at a cost. A death happens, releasing them and then a button is pressed. A new timeline in 2019, where everyone is powerless as they all leave separately.
Cut to six years later, 2024.
