Daydreaming about living in a van

A van with sturdy wheels, maybe even snow wheels

Insulation. Is there a natural version? Or is there only the foam and paper insulation?

Wood

Electrical wires all hidden in a box

Solar panels. How do you keep it down? Do you drill into the van?

A simple table with benches under it. I can use it as a stove by placing a hot plate on top, and I can move the hot plate around when I need more space. Maybe a small fridge - like small, small. They're good for drinks and maybe a week's worth of sandwiches.

I want water. That might be the heaviest thing there.

What about a toilet? Or showering?

I would always have to be at some piss stop with a shower. Maybe the gym could be my go-to shower spot or work.

Not that I ever have to live in a van. My room now is a great price!

So if I ever have a van, it would be mostly for travel, which isn't in the budget right now.

Or the peace of mind of knowing that I'll never be homeless as long as I don't park in the wrong place with no gas in the tank.

Idk. All those articles about people living in NYC or Silicon Valley in a van. Love that they can save money. Hate that they can't choose where to work.

Could keep my tiny cleaver knife pinned to a magnetic strip.

Same with jars of dehydrated food.

I would like a dehydrator (desiccator?) and an air fryer and a portable hot water boiler.

I could do so much with all those appliances.

Preserve food for years.

Or I could get tubs, remove the oxygen, and place those... I don't know what those packets are. Those last for 20 years or so.

With an air fryer, I could fry food or re-heat food.

Maybe I could even get a steamer. That way, I just need the hot plate, a pot, and the steamer (a metal rack with holes in it). And a lid. No point in a steamer without a lid.

A pot, a pan.

cutlery

In case of an emergency, a tiny wood burning stove and chopped wood. Matches. Material to get the fire going (I feel like that could be loose newspapers), twigs.

If I really wanted to save space, I would choose between the hot plate, the pot and pan, the steamer and the air fryer.

And a tiny fridge

Let's be reasonable. You're living in a van. There's not too much space. You might need the table sometimes for other things.
