It was relatively quiet morning in the Red Keep. Aside from the room where the small council usually gathered. From there Aegon's angry voice was heard.
"Why do you try make an embarrassment out of me during council meetings?" he said.
"I just answered you in Valyrian," calmly replied Aemond.
"I am the king and you should follow my orders, not act like a teacher."
"I am loyal to you and you know that."
"Really, is that why you were sharing a bed Aika while when my son was being killed," Aegon said louder than intended.
"Is that why you sound so angry? You always knew what I feel towards her," Aemond sounded frustrated "Are you angry that those assassins didn't found me or because I was with Aika?"
"At both," Aegon said, "You ignored her most of her life, I think I am better suited for.."
"You already have a wife"
"Then I want a second one, how about that," Aegon replied.
Aemond was used to Aegon joking about it, but at this moment he wasn't sure his brother was joking.
He came closer and whispered "Don't test me," and left the room. After he did Aegon threw a goblet after him.

Aika was waiting for Aemond in his room. She wore a teal and bluish dress, with almost no jewellery. She didn't even style her hair, so her natural locks cascaded beautifully. She looked like a dream. His eyes softened when he saw her.
"You look very beautiful," he said while approaching her, "you are beautiful."
Aika just smiled at the compliment. She still didn't get used to hearing compliments from Aemond.
"While I am away, please stay away from Aegon," Aemond said as he kissed her temple.
"Why what's the matter?"
"He is just... he says questionable things... promise?" he caressed Aika's shoulders and moved her hair to get a better peak at her scars she got recently.
"You are going to somewhere, not even telling me, while it's me for whom you are worried for?" she didn't seem disturbed of him playing with her hair.
"There's nothing you should worry about, I literally have Vhagar," he said with a smirk and embraced her in a hug.
She was the most precious thing to Aemond. The only one who mattered at times. He knew he could never let her go.

Hours passed before any news came to the Kings Landing. Apparently there was an awful battle at Rooke's Rest, and Aegon defeated Maelys, thus resulting Rhaenys' death. Aika had no tender feelings towards Rhaenys, but this was a cold reminder of how the war will continue from now on.
Aika entered the king chamber right after the guards brought his body in. Her heart ached because of the view before her. Half of Aegon's body was burnt, and his armor melted right into him at parts. He was unconscious, barely alive.
"I will do anything that I can," said Maester Orwyle to the queen Alicent. She was as devastated as Aika, seeing Aegon in this condition
"The war may not wait until Your Grace recovers," said Aemond entering the room...
