A/N: I'm back! With a new Parker redesign and a new chapter waiting for you guy's! Despite the last few months being utterly hectic, I've managed to write this chapter and have already started writing the next one! So please stay tuned for this one and thank you for all the kind comments and encouragement you all have given me!
PS: The last few part of this chapter is a TINY bit more intimate than usual, so just be aware! Mwah!
It had been about a day and a half since MK, Mei, and Sandy had went missing. The remaining members of the Monkey Kids had traveled the landscape for any signs of their friends. Parker hadn't gotten a hint of sleep since his conversation with Wukong and the talk with Old Sun back at the river bank.
It wasn't like he needed to sleep that much anyway, he had grown accustomed to the sleepless nights that followed him. It was as if his body nor mind needed to rest. All he needed do to, just like Wukong, was to meditate. After that, he'd come back recharged and without a hint of tiredness in his body.
It was midday, Pigsy and Tang had taken a much needed midday nap in their shared bunk. The old couple fell asleep not even a minute after their heads hit the pillows. Wukong, meanwhile, was still meditating. He occasionally paused his meditation sessions to look through Tang's book on the Journey to the West, a reminiscent look on his face as he stared at the pages.
Parker was at the wheel, staring off into the distance with a trained gaze that unsettled the Monkey king every time he glanced at the front of the TEA. Parker glanced at Wukong through the rear view mirror, their red and gold eyes locking momentarily before they snapped their gazes away.
"You're allowed to come up here and sit if you want. Uncle Tang and Uncle Pigsy will be out for a while..."
Wukong coughed forcefully and awkwardly at Parker's offer. The old monkey stood up and made his way to the passenger seat, hooking his legs over the dashboard like some kind of hooligan.
"Ah~ This is nice!" he said, sprawling into the passenger seat like he owned it. His legs kicked up on the dashboard, tail flicking lazily. "Sun in your fur, rest and relaxation..."
Whap! Parker smacked his legs off the dash without even looking. "Get your feet off the dash. You're not some hooligan."
Wukong chirped in surprise. "Ow—okay, yeesh! Bossy much?"
"You've been alive for thousands of years and still don't know how to sit like a normal person."
"'Normal' is boring," Wukong replied, sticking his tongue out before settling in properly. "Besides, you sound like Pigsy. You gonna start offering me chores next?"
Parker smirked slightly but didn't respond. His grip on the steering wheel tightened just a little. For a moment, the van returned to silence. But it wasn't heavy this time. Just... quiet.
And that's when they heard distant screaming coming from... the sky?? Wukong and Parker shared a look before snapping their gazes up to the bright blue above.
Both let out a synchronized screech of surprise as a blur of motion slammed onto the windshield, limbs sprawled across the glass.
"MK?!" Both Wukong and Parker screamed in unison as Parker suddenly slammed his foot
on the brake. The van jerked to a stop, startling Tang and Pigsy awake from their nap.
"Hey, guys!" MK's voice was muffled as he plastered himself against the glass. He grinned wildly, holding up what looked like a golden ring with a triple yin-yang engraved in its surface. "Look what we found!"
