After a few long days of driving through the desert, the monkey kids finally stopped at a long stretch of grass and fields. But after a long a day of rest, the gang was starting to pack up their belongings and head out again.

During pack up, MK and Parker were busy trying to figure out how to get MK's power back. They were standing at the edge of a small cliff, over looking the setting sun and the shimmering lake.

Parker was holding his hands out, standing in a crouch. MK was standing in front of him, using his bandana as a blindfold. He stumbled a bit before steadying himself.

"Okay, MK. Try to activate your Gold Vision before I strike you, okay?"

MK took a deep breath, adjusting the bandana over his eyes. He bounced on his heels, shaking out his hands. "Alright, hit me with your best shot!"

Parker hesitated for a second before lunging. He swung a careful but quick strike at MK's side—only for MK to completely miss it, yelping as Parker lightly smacked his ribs.

"Dude!" MK groaned, ripping off the blindfold. "I thought you were gonna give me a second to focus!"

"That was me giving you a second." Parker crossed his arms. "You have to react, MK, not just stand there waiting for a miracle."

MK huffed, rubbing his side dramatically. "I am reacting! It's just not... working."

Parker sighed, placing a hand on his hip. "Try again."

MK grumbled under his breath but tied the bandana back on. "Fine, fine."

Parker crouched again, waiting. This time, he moved slower, giving MK the chance to sense the attack. He aimed for MK's shoulder—

Nothing.

MK flinched way too late, stumbling as Parker's fingers poked his arm.

"Ugh!" MK yanked off the blindfold, frustration clear in his face. "Why isn't this working?! I could do it before!"

He paced back and forth, hands pulling at his hair. "I know I can do this! I've done it a bunch of times! So why—why—"

MK let out a loud groan, throwing his hands in the air. "Stupid monkey powers! Stupid Gold Vision! Stupid—" He kicked a rock, which promptly hit a tree and bounced back to hit him in the shin.

"Ow! Come on!"

Parker snorted. "The rock didn't do anything to you, man."

"It looked at me funny," MK grumbled.

Parker shook his head, walking over and placing a firm hand on MK's shoulder. "Hey. You're getting in your own head. You're trying too hard."

MK huffed, but he didn't pull away. "Then what am I supposed to do?"

"Let's just take a break for a minute. Sit down with me." Parker took a seat at the edge of the small cliff, his legs dangling over the edge. MK takes a seat next to him and groans into his hands before resting his head on Parker's shoulder.

"I feel useless..." MK admits after a beat of silence, making Parker snap his gaze back at him.

"What? MK, sunshine, no. No you're not useless. You're far from useless, you understand? Just because you don't have your powers right now doesn't mean you're useless." Parker moved to rest on his knees, cupping MK's face with tender care.

"But what use am I if I can't be sure my powers are gonna work? And Gold Vision? That's like the baby power' And I can't even do that! I'm not even as good as a baby!!"
