The sun was starting to set as Gia put the key in the lock.
She took a deep breath.
"Ok, here we go."
She walked into the room took off her coat and threw her bag and case on the couch. Standing still for a moment she could hear Lin playing and singing in the other room.
She listened for a while before knocking gently.
The playing stopped.
She opened the door and walked in smiling at him.
"Hi"
Registering his confusion as he looked at the clock she carried on.
"Caught an earlier train."

He nodded.
"So I see"
He stood up and walked over to her, taken by surprise when she threw her arms round him and hugged him close.
He stood still not sure how to respond. Gia pulled away and looked at him.

"Well I wasn't expecting a fanfare but thought I'd at least get a peck on the cheek!"
She laughed awkwardly.

He fleetingly closed his eyes tight and shook his head slowly.
"Would you like a drink?"

She nodded and followed him into the kitchen.
"Everything ok?"

He kept his back to her, adding coffee to the machine, not answering.

Gia laughed quickly.
"Ok. What's going on?"

He shrugged.

"Lin? For fucks sake. Talk to me"
She grabbed him by the shoulders and turned him to face her.
"What's going o.... God baby what's wrong, Jesus what's happened?!"

Lin looked at her, silent tears flowing down his face.

Gia looked at him in shock.

He quietly stared her in the eyes. His words coming out ice cold.
"You.Tell.Me."

She frowned and stepped back.
He couldn't know. There was no way he could know. She gulped and
looked at him.

He carried on.
"You weren't on a works thing were you? Nor were you with Anton."

She rubbed her forehead.
"Shit. I didn't want you to find out before I had chance to tell you."
She reached to wipe his tears away but he moved his face away quickly.
"Baby, I'm sorry. I knew you were busy writing and needed to stick to your deadline, I just didn't want to distract you. How did you find out?"

"DISTRACT ME! FUCKING HELL GIA! THIS ISN'T LIKE YOU'RE INTERRUPTING ME TO ASK WHAT I WANT FROM THE DAMN SHOPS!"
He stared hard at her. His breathing heavy.

Gia looked at him confused.
"I know I should've told you, and I'm sorry, but I really thought I was doing the right thing..."

She reached for his arm. He pushed her hand away angrily.
"Ha!"

Gia frowned at him.
"Do you know what Lin. Regardless of whether I should or shouldn't have told you before... I at least thought you would have asked me how I am..."

"HOW YOU ARE?"
He laughed quickly.
"JESUS... YOU ARE PRICELESS, OK, I'LL PLAY THE GAME."
He walked to stand in front of her, taking a deep breath he put on a fixed smile.
"Hi darling, good time away? How ARE you? Have you had an amazing time having sex behind my back? Did he make you feel good? Did he touch you in your favourite place? Did you come more than once a night...."

Gia was frozen to the spot.
"What the fuck Lin?"

"Are you moving in together? How long do I have to move out? Has he been here? Have you had sex with him in our bed...?"

"STOP!"

"Sorry, Truth a bit painful is it? Hey don't worry too much. I've been having my own fun."

"What the fuck! Lin I haven't had sex with anyone."
