CHAPTER ELEVEN:
THE HUNT FOR CETTI-CAT
(LET HIM STAY GONE, FUCK.)

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

KETTI WASN'T SURE HOW CETTI-CAT HAD DISAPPEARED WITHOUT A TRACE, BUT AFTER TWO MONTHS OF OWNING THE GUY, SHE WAS FUCKING TERRIFIED.

"We'll find him, kitten," Logan assured her, walking next to her down the street.

Peter was putting up flyers with Gwen, Wade was canvassing (actually, I was looking at dogs in a pet store because I wanted to give Ketti a normal animal, not the demon she picked up) the southern part, while she and Logan were towards the northern area.

"He couldn't have gone far," Ketti surmised, frowning. "Right? What if he's hurt somewhere?"

"Ketti," Logan looked down at her. "You're worried about a cat."

"Don't tell me you don't love him."

Logan didn't answer, just looked ahead again.

"We'll find him," Ketti repeated.

They did not find Cetti-Cat, unfortunately, but they did find trouble when Ketti had to use the bathroom and they entered a small minimart for "snacks and breaks" and to check progress with Peter, Gwen and Wade.

But the guy in the ski-mask who grabbed Ketti while she looked over Doritos options (nacho cheese, always, cool ranch is for nine year olds, don't be a nine year old, it's just tragic) and Logan was smoking a cigar outside.

"Don't say a fucking thing," the man growled, holding a gun to her temple.

Ketti froze, eyes widening. The man backed her up slowly, taking her out the side entrance to the alley.

"Careful, pal."

(Ooooh, Daddy's here, everyone get your hand out of your pants. Who am I kidding, you're all fucking coming already.)

Both the man and Ketti froze, watching with wide eyes as Logan stood before them, a dark look on his face.

"I'll kill her man, I will."

Ketti made eye contact with Logan and then glanced to the gun pointedly. She could get the gun out of the guy's grasp if Logan attacked.

It happened in seconds. Logan's head lowered as Ketti slammed her head back, hitting the man's nose, sending her elbow to his side. He grunted, then immediately aimed the gun at Ketti again, who was a foot away now, but it was enough distraction for Logan to come over, and promptly take the bullet that was meant for Ketti, then claw the man in the throat.

Blood spurted across Ketti and soaked Logan's claws, which he retracted. The man's body toppled to the ground and the gun moved out of his hand.

"Jesus," Ketti muttered, looking down at the scene, then up at Logan. "Thank you."

"No problem, kid," Logan dismissed, then looked over the man. "Know this guy?" He asked, kneeling down and taking the mask off him.
