AND EVERYTHING CHANGES

"LOGAN?"

Ketti's heart skipped a beat at the sound of his voice. The pet name. She'd forgotten how much she liked his voice.

She wished she was sober enough to think clearly.

"Hey, kid," Logan replied softly. "You okay? You somewhere safe?"

"Mmhm," Ketti ran her hand through Matt's hair absentmindedly as she spoke to Logan. "At Matty's."

"Good girl," Logan praised her. "You been drinking?"

"Mmhm," Ketti hummed. "Are you mad at me?"

"No," Logan said softly. "Why do you think that?"

"Because you're ignoring me," Ketti sighed heavily. "You and Wade. I miss you."

It was quiet for a moment.

"Call me in the morning if you remember, okay?" He asked her. "Get some sleep, bub."

"Okay, Lo."

Ketti ended the call and within minutes her head was back against the sofa wall, asleep.

Frank's hands were calloused and rough, and sometimes had blood stains on the knuckles that she never asked about.

Frank's eyes were full of warmth and a softness she knew he only looked at her with.

Frank's hair was soft in her fingers and his growing stubble scratched her cheeks and chin when they kissed.

Frank's mouth knew every inch of her body. Memorized what made her gasp or moan or ache with pleasure. His tongue traced over her breasts and naval and core and he could make her come in seconds if he tried hard enough.

(Wait until you feel Logan for the first time, Ketti. Say hello to the big guy for me when you reach Heaven.)

God, she liked Frank.

Ketti teared up as Frank's mouth moved softly against her skin, leaving kisses and marks in the aftermath.

God, she liked Frank so much it hurt.

"Darlin?" He asked, pulling back and looking down at her, resting on his forearms above her. "Hey, baby, what's wrong?"

"I can't do this," she sobbed softly, tears falling before she could stop them.

"Hey, shh," he moved up and into a better position, gently wiping the tears from her eyes. "Talk to me, darlin."

"I..." Ketti shook her head, looking up at his perfect face. How could she have done this? Gotten so involved with him?

A man who had already been hurt so tremendously. A man who'd lost everyone he'd ever loved and now he'd lose her too.

"Oh, sweet girl," he said softly, pressing a kiss to her head before sitting up. "I ain't mad, it's okay."
