14. Giving Love For Free.

Hearing a ceiling fan go round and round, I sat up in Will's bed in his t-shirt confused on how I made it from the Rebelle House to his. My head pounding, I turn to see a glass of water with pain meds right beside it on a nightstand close to the bed. Picking it up and downing some with the meds there, I wipe the little bit of water that fell from the corners of my mouth. Few minutes later I hear footsteps thinking it was Will coming into the hall and into his room. The door knob turns and reveals it was Aero instead which made me get irritated more than relieved.

He looks at me then closes the door quietly making sure no one heard he even opened it.

"Will told us you'll be staying with us, that something happened," He tries to touch my forehead to check for a fever but I move away turning my face.

"How was Capri? Really rocked your world from the glimpse I saw," I grudgingly say, "Didn't even kick her out seconds after."

Squinting his eyes at me, he finally gets what I'm saying then shakes his head, "No, it didn't go that far. Yes, she got on her knees but seconds after I left," Now making me look at him, I shove his hand off, "Go touch Capri. I don't want what she had. On her knees or not." Looking out the window, he looks too. "Ayla," Going to touch me again, Will now walks in with a plate of food for me to try and eat.

"Everything alright?" Will asks placing the food on the nightstand looking at Aero for being next to me on the bed.

"He was just telling me if I needed anything you guys would get it for me," I lie while looking at Will and only Will.

Aero now gets up, "Yeah but she said she's okay for now," Walking over to the door, he looks back at me for a second but then leaves Will and me alone.

"Was he bothering you?" Will asks me while touching my head softly seeing if I was running a temp.

Noticing how they act as if they know how to handle drug related situations like the one I had, I ask, "How do you know how to do that? Know what to look out for?"

Checking my neck then cheeks, he looks me in the eye, "Our pops, well mom actually, she became an addict when Aero was 10, me when I was 9. Paul was two years behind and Danny wasn't born yet. But we had to clean her up when pops wasn't home to do it. Just another skill us Jorn's had to learn, you know," He grabs the food handing it to me. I looked down seeing toast, grits, eggs and bacon. "You didn't have to," I say low only knowing Chad and Jasper to be the only two to ever take care of me, especially cooking wise."Try a little, I know you're probably still feeling wavy so don't push yourself." I nod taking a bite out of the toast then laughed a little when he smiled waiting to see if I would,"It's crispy, just uh the way I like it," I laughed more and he rolled his eyes.

"It's just right. If you don't have your toast like that then you've been living under a rock."

We both now smile at each other but I move the plate to the side dusting toast crumbs off my hands.

"Jorn, I think I should go see Chad and I still have some stuff to finish with Ronan, you know the one Aero handed his ass to," Will moves the plate back to the nightstand staying quiet. "Jorn? Did you hear me? I can't stay here," I look at him from the side, having him look at me as well.

"I called in a favor," Standing he goes to his window, opening it more.

Narrowing my eyes at him, I say, "Favor? What type of favor Jorn?"

Paul knocks on Will's bedroom door opening it a little, "Will, Daniel said he has that thing you wanted, said you would know what that meant."

Will clears his throat, "Yeah, I'll be down in a minute," Paul then shuts the door with a head nod going back downstairs.

"What are you doing? Do you know Baker? What he's capable of? Juniper?"

Walking to the door he stops for a second then turns a bit before walking all the way out.

"You shouldn't have to constantly run from either by getting high enough to numb what they do to you. You're a person Ayla. Not a damn property they can play as your owner. You are your own owner and no one else."

Leaving now, I raise an eyebrow never been talked to like that.

It's always been shut your mouth, drop your panties, never what I really wanted, which I mean I grew into believing that's what I was good for and nothing else.

But as he said no one owned me but me so I got dressed more heading downstairs to see Daniel typing on a laptop with Will standing by him telling him what to look for.

On the couch was Paul drinking a beer while Aero was in the backyard in a lawn chair.

I tried sneaking out but Aero catches me saying, "Going back to what hurts you is why you keep getting hurt." Licking my bottom lip nodding, I say, "I'm doing it for reasons you won't ever understand." Aero shook his head, "You're right, I don't. Why do you do it? Truly? Are you really that fucked up or do you secretly love it?" Furrowing my eyebrows, I glare at him.

"Love being touched by random men for money? To sleep with them because it's fun? Aero I was beaten, manipulated, touched, raped. You don't start to love what you do because it's exciting. You do it out of survival. And because I'm always somebody's favorite, I get fucked the most. Literally and metaphorically speaking. So before you go and start painting a picture of why I do what I do? Ask yourself when I am ever going to be loved for free and not when it's most convenient to get off on."

Aero lets his barricade down just for a split second but then becomes violently cold.

"And when you need saving? Who's going to be the blame?"

I shrugged, "I never asked for anyone to save me. You Jorn's just keep running into a burning building because you like the thrill not because you're worried about whoever is inside. Remember that when you want to act like you give a shit about me."

With that I leave getting a ride to the hospital to see Chad by hitch hiking holding my head as both Aero and Will's words scrape my thoughts annoyingly once I get in the back of a truck that decided to help me out.
