But what did he do?
"What are you saying? What, changing your past? Why are you even here?" Fuck, why won't his body move? Juyeon tried hard to move, but all his limbs are frozen.
He felt movement behind.
"You were with a kid, who invited you to his home."
Juyeon stayed silent.
"You had dinner at his place, and, at midmight.."
He heard a gulp. But Juyeon wasn't focused on that, but on Jaius's words.
Jaius..
Jaius?
The quick-witted Juyeon finally.. at last.. put two-and-two together.
He was then able to move. He turned around, speechless.
The dark-haired, pale-skinned handsome man in front of him resembled the kid he was with earlier.
"It's.. you?" He uttered.
Jaius seemed bored. "Who else?" He stood up from where he was leaning, and strode over with his long legs.
Juyeon didn't know why, but he took a step back.
The Jaius he was with earlier, he saw it very clearly – the little Jaius, along with his family, was obliterated with a giant sword. How..
"What was the reason?" Jaius asked, calm.
Is he curious about the reason or is he saying that he's gonna kill me? No, how could this even happen? Time-travelling into someone else's past..
He was at a loss as well, but Jaius and his murderous gaze seemed impatient, he couldn't help flinching out an answer, "I – I think.. I fell asleep reading a book. I really don't know!" Jaius stepped forward one more time, "Ah! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" And covered his face.
When he raised his head, however, he found that he was alone in the room. Jaius was gone.
Then the bell rang, and his detention teacher entered the room.
Juyeon cursed, "Fuck, has it been just a few hours?" He gathered his bag and dashed out the room. George.. George must have an answer for this.
___
It seems that his whole interaction with that kid was just a dream. It also indeed did not make sense. Waking up in the middle of the street and going to some random kiddo's house, have dinner, and get chased by wolves at night? He knew it! He was not that dumb to go to some kid's house – what would serial killers think of him, right?
It seemed someone does not agree, however.
"Woah, you really just followed a kid like a lost puppy? You're stupid."
Juyeon's mouth was agape as he listened to George.
They're now inside their dorm room, playing games together, the time reading three in the morning.
"Dude, it was not me! I was dreaming!"
"It was still you, idiot! You dreamt about it because it was what you would've done."
Juyeon, "..."
George's face suddenly became serious. He paused the game, and turned to Juyeon, "Can you tell me what happened again, from the moment you fell asleep and then woke up?"
"I told you, already. I fell asleep reading a book."
George, "Which book?"
Juyeon, "The story about.. the Crown Prince?" Yes, that was what he was reading. "And then I woke up to some historical drama setting or something."
There was silence.
And then a gasp.. from George.
And then a hit from Juyeon, "Stop being so dramatic! What is it?"
"I really don't know." George scratched his own head, smiling. "Why don't you ask Jaius. He's the one who claims to have had his past changed, right?"
This friend of his is really not good at anything aside from eating and sleeping.
Aside from his interaction with the kid, Juyeon also remembers that he was somewhere else. He met two women, and even helped one of them give birth.
What was really happening?
Juyeon walked the hallways, heading to his class, head filled with overwhelming thoughts.
He didn't notice the looks people have been giving him.
He's that insensitive.
It was time for Death Class. Juyeon thinks the name of the class was rather on-point. Juyeon looks around. Especially when he has the entire gang of Bastian Atre's and Akira Fuliente as his classmates.
And they're all staring daggers at him.
Juyeon found that he didn't care, tho.
The young teacher in front, who was wearing a thick pair of glasses, was cheerily explaining about reincarnation. "And, that is why every living soul has their due date, to cease this life and start another – thus, Reincarnation." He smiled, "This step can be delayed, based on various factors: if the soul has unfulfilled goals and wants in their life, they may become lingering souls; or if the soul becomes lost, or illegaly stolen, by another soul or life."
Juyeon was listening. And he found this intriguing, "Sir, what about Kristian? Is he a living soul or a lingering soul?"
This dude really knows when to say things. The other dude is just behind him, eh.
The class burst out into laughter, even the teacher himself. "Why, Juyeon, have you asked that?"
Juyeon, "Just curious." Was it wrong?
"No, Kristian Night is part of the Night Family – they are neither living nor dead souls. A living soul can die, as per the yin-yang rule, and they cannot."
He heard Kristian from behind him, "You're interested in me, transferee? You know you can just ask, and I'll keep you company at your dorm and tell you my entire life story."
Fuck. This dude is annoying. And scary. What if he just appears in my room at night?
"Do you want me to?" A whisper from behind.
Juyeon was shocked, "Please stop reading my mind, thank you."
Juyeon knows Kristian has been keeping his eye at him for the entire class, but he didn't care. He doesn't want anything to do with that gang.
Mind full of thoughts, Juyeon got back to the dorm at seven. He only had Death Class today, and he was thankful for that. He'll get to rest.
Was what he thought. Until George the cat dragged him out of his bed at eleven and into some weird, crowded place.
