Music blasting throughout the whole place.

Crowded, sweaty people.

And awful-ass drinks.

What the fuck was he doing there? Juyeon thought to himself. They also had parties back at home, but it was not this huge. And he definitely knew everyone there.

Juyeon got dragged to some party by George, somewhere beyond the forest.

He started. Both he and his roommate drinking some weird grape-flavored shit at the side. "You know, you never struck me as the kind of dude who goes to these types of places."

George pouted, but was curious, "How do you view me, then? Well, for me, I definitely knew you were familiar with these types of events."

Juyeon haha-ed, "Yeah, by reading my mind." George burst out into laughters. "Seriously, you gotta stop doing that. I don't like it."

George was wide-eyed, then. "I'm sorry. Oh! I forgot to teach you about the mind-closing technique."

"How do you do it?"

"Well, first - "

"Hey, newbie!" Suddenly, Kristian's group or gang walked up to them, looking like delinquents.

They're too ugly.

"You're friends?" George asked, quietly.

"No!" Juyeon frustratedly answered and turned to Kristian and his friends – who were wearing a black jacket that was really eye-catching, with shiny red at the seams. "What do you want?"

Kristian's friends were smiling. So was Kristian, and it was the creepiest thing ever. Juyeon never knew a smile could bring shivers down his spine. But he held himself and calmed down. Kristian tossed him something. "Here!" Juyeon caught it, panicking. Kristian's head was raised high, "Use that when you need something." And then turned his back along with his friends.

Juyeon, "..."

George, "... you're friends?"

Juyeon, "FUCK NO!" He turned to his hand saw a blood-red card. With engraved words,

Night Family Card.

His head tilted uncontrollably, "What?"

George was stupefied when he saw what Kristian Night had given his friend. He grabbed Juyeon's hands with both his hands and looked at him with a mixture of eagerness, shock, and perhaps.. fear? "Juyeon! Why did Kristian Night suddenly give you a family-pass? When did you two suddenly become close? I thought you feared him, feared us!"

"Chill out! I told you we're not friends. What is this family-pass?" Family-pass?

George looked sideways and dragged his friend to a corner, whispering, "This pass – if you present it to the Night Family, you can literally request for anything. As in, anything!" He was both terrified and.. excited? This dude is weird.

"So, I present this.. thing to his house and, what, I get a million dollars in exchange? That's pretty dope." Did Kristian really just gave him this?

"Juyeon, not just that! If you ask for a mansion, one billion, grades, or even Kristian's hand, they'll do it!"

Juyeon threw George's hands away, "Why the fuck would I ask for Kristian's hand?" George laughed, until Juyeon added, "I have a hand of my own." George's laugh stopped, and he looked at his friend funny. "What?" To which George replied with a "nothing".

___

Three hours later, Juyeon finally decided to not keep the card. Out of fear. He does not want anything connecting him and Kristian. And, that guy is also suspicious – why suddenly give him that kind of card? They weren't friends. He must be playing him! Once he gets seen with that card, he'll prolly be eaten by his kind.

He threw the thing in the trash.

In the afternoon, his schoolmates were in a rush. There was some sort of event, he heard. He ignored it and went to his class.

That was, until, their classroom window was pierced by an arrow. He cowered in fear, surprised, and looked down.

His classmate shouted, "It's starting!"

"What, what is starting?" Juyeon, confused and scared, followed the others and looked. On the grass field two students were fighting.

Of couse, it was not the normal one.

One was fighting with a crossbow, and her arrows glowed violet. Is it poisoned? And one opposite her was floating in the air, the ground following his will.

"What the hell Is happening?"

His classmate replied, "You didn't know. Today is Open Pre-tournament Practice. You can invite someone or a group to fight on the field."

"How long for someone to win?"

His classmate grinned, "Until someone dies. Or! Someone admits defeat."

His classmates then all went outside, perhaps wanting to watch up-close. He didn't want to be left out, so he grabbed George, "Let's watch too!"

"Ohoho, you're not scared anymore?"

"Fuck, that's why I'm sticking with you. Let's go."

It looks like every student of Hell University – and even some teachers – were there watching. The open field was big enough to hold all of them, and it didn't even look crowded yet.

When the first two finished fighting and the one who was floating earlier was nearly dying on the ground, throwing up blood, a student stood up and pointed at Kristian Night, challenging him.

Kristian replied with a chuckle, "Me? Okay."

Not even an hour later, that student is already buried under.

George and Juyeon couldn't help cursing. "Fuck!" The student looked strong, being able to control the wind. But, man, Kristian was something else. All it took was one look, and the student dug his own grave. Literally. Juyeon turned to George, "What happened? Why did the student dig his own grave?"

George replied, in fear, "It's called mind-control. It's unique to vampires. It's a very basic skill, but can be powerful."

Fuck, Kristian can control minds? Juyeon will really no longer even look at him.

Just then, though, George's face suddenly turned pale as he looked at Juyeon in great shock and fear. Juyeon said, "Are you okay?" George didn't say anything and just stared at him, open-mouthed.

When he turned back to the field, however, he saw that everyone was looking at him. And Kristian Night was pointing at him, smiling.

"You, let's fight."
