The repair room

It's been a weird week, but in short, the daycare got closed after wednesday. Guiltily, Sun confessed to lying about his attitude. Evelyne made an 'I'm not mad, just disappointed' face when he said so, but she was understanding for the most part. Now, Sunday, Moon was just sitting outside of the repair tube, waiting for Dave, Benson, or Evelyne (preferably the last) to check the Attendant's head. He impatiently clacked his fingertips on his face in varying patterns. Moon recalled that day where the virus had came about.

He was already known for having a shorter fuse han his other half, but yesterday he was uncharacteristically worse. He got terribly snappy at that girl named Ash who kept demanding things her way. He nearly threw the kid. Well, not really, but he imagined it vividly.

That kid's attitude almost got her banned from the daycare. The only reason she wasn't banned was because Nova brought the attendant back to reason. She grabbed the anumateonic's hand and asked if Moon was okay... the small action was just enough to ground his mind once more.

The attendant later pondered the matter before convinced Sun to fess up to Evelyne. Evelyne was okay, but Moon absolutely did not want to face the wrath of her superior, Vanessa.

Sun got an earful from that dreadful woman. For an early twenty year old woman, Vanessa had the temper of an elderly man yelling at you to "GET OFF MY LAWN." Scary scary,

Eventually, tapping his own face became as boring as waiting, so Moon walked around. As much as Moon patrolled the night, he was never down here at the repair area that often. The stealable stuff, like merchandise, was always in the main building. Even if Sun or himself had to be repaired, most things were small enough to be done in the daycare. But today, the virus in their head was a special case that needed the protective tube. Y'know, in case he got aggressive because of the virus.

Observing the area, animatronic skeletons, endos were littered everywhere. Some were hooked to learning machines, some were standing still, and others were in pieces, dismembered or yet to be assembled. The room was quiet save for the robot skeletons, the occasional pipe hiss and Moon himself. He crept around, his bells jingling with each step... unexpectedly, the pattern of noises was interrupted by a large crash.

Someone young yelled profanity at the noise, assuming they were alone. The lunar animatronic turned the corner to see a small girl gathering tools, robotic trinkets and decorative objects strewn across the ground. Nova muttered incoherent thoughts to herself before dumping the armful into a toolbox similar to her size. Moon hadn't seen the girl since the daycare closed four days ago, so had she been here the whole time?

"Nova?" he said, startling her, making her knock a few things off her small toolbox again.

She squeaked slightly, "Did you hear what I said earlier?"

He giggled at her concern, "I'm not too keen on punishing swears when no ones around. I would swear too if I could sometimes."

"You can't?"

He sat down on a nearby bench where she joined him, "No, I'm prohibited from cursing in my coding," Moon sighed. He truly wished he could at times. It would be useful against some difficult parents and a certain blonde at the pizzaplex.

Her mouth formed an 'O' shape and she looked away from him to her left, "Maybe I won't add that feature to my robot."

Following her line of sight Moon saw her work-in-progress animatronic. It looked different for sure. Its halo/ringlet had stars and bells hanging off it, it wore a black bandana with a shooting star on it and a matching black skirt to go with it. White cuffs were attached to the wrists and the legs were fashioned with Sun/Moon themed leg warmers.

"Sorry to break it to you, but your mom will probably force you to add that coding in. It's fine anyway, cursing is a bad thing you naughty girl!" He poked her on the nose and she laughed, "It's looking good."

Her grin grew as she hopped off the bench, running to her animatronic excitedly. She tapped it on the head with a screwdriver, "I've been working on it all week! It can do basic actions now, like walking and jumping! I was just working on its talking and grabbing stuff."

Moon got up for a closer look, "Can I see it walk?"

The girl turned the robot to face down a clear path, "I'm not super skilled at this coding stuff yet, so she can't navigate areas yet." Nodding in understanding, he watched Nova turn it on, taking a few steps and then she turned it off again.

"That's cool. Who taught you? Evelyne?"

The girl huffed, "No, mommy's too busy helping Mr.Benson and Mr.Dave with the main four and virus checks before it's too late. Arsen and his oldest brother came by because they didn't know the daycare was closed on Thursday, so he took some time to teach me stuff!" She held a couple papers up, "I took notes!"

"Oh, may I see?" The girl proudly handed the papers over. Shuffling through them, the handwriting was barely legible except for the codes written by the college student. Moon, despite being a robot, knew very little about coding. It was something he was too lazy to try to understand, but he thought Nova was one of the smartest 8 year olds to catch on so quickly. He said so, and she laughed, "I don't think I am! This stuff is easy."

"Nonsense, Novs! This stuff is hard for even me to get."
Her eyes brightened as she hugged the animatronic around the waist. Moon recalled fondly of last year where her head barely reached that height compared to him, "Really? You think this stuff is hard to do?"

"And cool!"

"Really?"

"Really."
