As if things couldn't get worse, the campers were now sprinting for their lives through the jungle. Once again.
It takes both Brooklyn and Y/N to help Yasmina along.
"Run! Run! Run!" Darius demands, leading the group.
"Is the Parasaurolophus still there!?" Brooklyn looks back, prioritizing the herbivore that had been running alongside them... for some reason.
Kenji whipped his head around to check, but just before he can answer, a T. Rex runs straight for the smaller dino, knocking it off the path.
"Not anymore!"
Darius suddenly stops in his tracks, eliciting the others to do the same.
"Over there! Cover!" He shouts, pointing to an uprooted tree.
The campers all scramble for the giant shrub, crawling under and hurdling over it.
They can hear the sounds of the T. Rex basically eradicating the other dinosaur.
Sammy and Yasmina huddle together and Brooklyn covers her ears.
After a couple seconds of almost silence, accompanied by distant footsteps, Darius gets up to check.
He slowly peeks over the top of the trunk and spot the T. Rex dragging his prey further into the jungle.
"They're gone."
A collective relieved sigh leaves the group, as per usual now. They all let their muscles relax as they basically melt into the ground.
"Why are there so many dinosaurs around?" Kenji grumbles.
Y/N would usually have some snarky remark, but he was so appalled by the stupid question that he didn't even have anything to say.
Brooklyn sits up with a characteristic roll of her eyes, "Well it's either your boyish charm or the fact that all the fences on the island are down."
"No offense, but it's definitely option two." Sammy sighs.
"Full offense, I agree." Y/N adds his very sarcastic input.
"I don't even care." Yasmina lets out a breathy sigh.
"Right now, I just want a sandwich."
"We haven't eaten since we those awful carob bars that Ben..."
The mention of Ben's name leaves everyone silent for a moment, Yasmina's face turns remorseful when she realizes what she said.
The lull continues, the group looking rather somber.
They don't get to mourn for long, however.
A loud roar pierces the air. An although the campers can't really tell how far away it is, they aren't really that interested in finding out.
So, with yet another collective groan, they all reluctantly stand up from their places in the grass that were just starting to get kinda comfy.
"We just need to eat and rest." Sammy whines as she dusts some of the dirt from her pants.
"I can't keep running like this."
Darius begins wandering off into a clearing, thinking about where they could head next, when he spots something.
"We don't have to." His face lights up.
"There's bound to be a way to call for help on Main Street, and food, and everything else!"
The other campers grow excited and follow after Darius as he runs towards their objective.
"Come on!"
