lucas is talking in this chapter:

It was 8 p.m., and the party had just begun, but I found myself sitting on the beach, lost in thoughts about Sasha. She didn't deserve any of this. My mind kept circling the same thoughts until I realized it was already 10 p.m. I was late. I hurried to the party, and as soon as I arrived, I saw Ethan standing too close to Sasha, his hand casually resting on her waist. A surge of anger flooded me. I had warned him to stay away from her, but he never listens. He always thinks he can handle everything on his own, but he's going to ruin everything.

With my head burning with rage, I grabbed his hand and yanked it away from Sasha, glaring at him with fury. His response was a smug, provocative smirk.

"We need to talk. Now," I snapped, grabbing his arm and dragging him to a secluded spot away from everyone else.

"What the hell are you doing?" I demanded, my voice trembling with anger.

"I'm finishing this right here, right now," Ethan shot back, his face a mix of anger and determination. "We're going to spike her soda, and it's over."

"Don't you dare! It's not the right time!" I snapped.

"Too late, bro," Ethan sneered, a twisted smile creeping across his face. "I'm finishing this mission today. We'll get the money, and—"

"Are you out of your mind?" I cut him off, my voice rising in panic. "What if her body reacts badly? What if she dies? What if something goes wrong?" I was shouting now, shoving Ethan with both hands, desperate to stop him. Without thinking, I bolted toward Sasha, who was about to take a sip from the cup in her hand.

"Sasha!" I yelled, freezing as I reached her, my mind blank.

"Lucas? What's wrong?" she asked, concern etched across her face.

In a split second, I made a decision. I collapsed into her arms, hoping she'd drop the glass. It was a foolish plan, but in that moment, it was all I had. Thankfully, it worked. As I fell, she let go of the glass to catch me, and I pretended to be dizzy. I must have been convincing because even Ethan seemed to believe it.

Everything came to a halt. I was cradled in Sasha's arms as she screamed for water. "Someone, bring water!" she cried, holding my face with both hands. "Lucas, please, open your eyes! Can you hear me?"

When I heard someone mention calling an ambulance, I started to slowly open my eyes.

"Lucas, he's waking up! Lucas, are you okay?" Sasha's voice trembled with worry.

As I opened my eyes, I met her gaze. She looked so concerned, so kind.

The guys helped me to my feet and handed me some water. "What's wrong?" Sasha asked softly, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Are you okay?"

"I was talking to Ethan earlier, I felt a little tired and dizzy. Maybe I didn't sleep well last night."i lied

God, help her. She's so kind, so sweet. She doesn't deserve any of this. She's perfect, and she doesn't deserve what's coming
