'Miguel, can you come here?' I asked as soon as I crossed my pack border with Corey hopping into the trees as soon as I did so. 'Where are you?'

'Coming your way,' Miguel said. 'What is it? What happened? Are you ok?'

I stopped at the edge of the border and made sure that my face was taken care of while I waited for Miguel to appear in front of me. 'I am ok for now,' I said, even though I had no idea if I was ok or not. 'We will talk about this stuff a little later on, but for right now, I need you to do me a favor.'

Miguel became worried, and I had a feeling that he picked up his speed so that he could meet me at the border, not knowing why I didn't move toward him and find him that way. He didn't say a word while he did so, growing worried.

'Where is the Alpha?' I asked, my thoughts turning to Levi, and I couldn't help but wonder if he knew what had happened and that they had met with me without him being there.

'He has been in his room,' Miguel said while he continued to run toward me. 'Aaron said that there were a lot of... destructive noises coming from his room, but that is it. He doesn't know why.'

I raised an eyebrow in question and pressed my lips into a thin line, and I couldn't help but become worried for the Alpha because I didn't know if he knew what was happening to me or not. 'Has Aaron tried to ask the Alpha what was the matter?' I asked.

'He tried,' Miguel said. 'However, he wasn't able to ask much because the Alpha yelled at him and threatened to kick him out of the pack if he continued to push.'

I pressed my lips into a thinner line and bit back a small growl of annoyance, not liking the fact that Levi had threatened Aaron because I was going to need him just as much as I was going to need the stand in Beta.

'Lex?' Miguel asked when I didn't say a word. 'Are you still there? Are you ok?'

I sighed and moved a hand through my hair before I moved my hand across my face with a small grimace on my face. 'I am ok for now,' I said while I shook my head and pursed my lips in annoyance. 'I need to see Grams, but I need to get you updated on what's happening and what I need you to do.

Miguel jumped from a bush, shifting into his human form as he did so, and I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in question when I saw that he was wearing a pair of pants and knowing that they were made for the King's Guards. "What did you need me to do?" he asked with a frown on his face while he cocked his head and studied me.

"Why are you wearing King's Guards pants?" I asked, not answering his question while I raised the eyebrow higher. "What happened to yours?"

"Long story," Miguel said and waved my question off with a shake of his head. "What are you wanting me to do?"

"Miguel," I warned while I scowled and narrowed my eyes. I folded my arms across my chest while I stared at him, my eyes flashing to my wolf.

"Please, Lex," Miguel said with another shake of his head before he cleared his throat and shifted on his feet. His cheeks grew red, and he looked nervous and worried. "Can you answer my question because you have this look in your eyes saying that you have to be somewhere else and not here?"

I growled and narrowed my eyes while I set my jaw, even though I knew that what he was saying was true.

I needed to get to my grandmother so that I could find out if anything was wrong with my beast...

"Please," Miguel said and bowed his head ever so slightly. "What is it?"

I sighed and moved a hand through my hair before I relented, shaking my head. "Anthony is going to be coming with my truck, and I need you to park it in front of the old house," I said, talking about my actual home and not at my grandmother's house. "I am going to have to do something with my grandmother, and I do not know how long it's going to take."

Miguel frowned and tapped on his head, silently indicating that it might be for the best that we talk this way, even though we were "alone" in the forest with no one else near us besides Corey. "That's fine," he said. 'Why? What happened?'

'It's a long story,' I said while I shrugged and grimaced, 'and I do not want to get into it because I still have to talk with my grandmother and do it soon.' I rubbed my arm and cleared my throat. "Make sure that you lock it after you park it. Please."

"Don't I usually?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question while he cocked his head and smirked. 'Does this have something to do with the Alpha and him throwing stuff around in his room?'

I rolled my eyes and scowled. "You didn't once and then someone went in and tried to steal something but got scared for some reason," I said. "Remember?" I gave him a pointed look and raised both eyebrows in unison. 'I think so, but I do not know why he is throwing stuff around.'

"Well, it wasn't even in front of your house," he said and grinned while he shrugged. "I thought it was funny, even though you didn't." He flashed me a small wink, and I rolled my eyes and scowled.. 'Are we going to have to have another emergency meeting?' he asked and cocked his head to the side, growing serious.

"You didn't think it was funny when my foot was up your ass," I said and bared my teeth in warning, and he laughed and nodded. I narrowed my eyes and scowled while I looked at him. 'We might need to,' I replied, biting back an annoyed sigh. 'Can you set something up while I do this thing with my grandmother?'

'Yes, Alpha,' he said and nodded. 'I will after I park your truck at your house and make sure that it is locked.' "Well... I still thought it was funny, but I think Nike found it more funny than me."

I rolled my eyes and scowled, hiding back a small sigh of relief. 'We'll meet at my house again.' "Don't remind me. He was wanting a better show than that and got grumpy because we didn't give it to him."

'Yes, Alpha,' he said and gave me a cheeky grin when I scowled and narrowed my eyes. He cleared his throat and grew serious while he shifted on my feet. 'Do you think we'll be having any extra guests that evening?' he asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "He also wanted popcorn, but Lina wasn't going to leave and get him some while we "fought.""

'I think Salem will be in the meeting and either Anthony or Corey or both,' I replied. 'I do not know if Levi is going to try and see me again this evening, but we will worry about that when we get there.' "Lina was on babysitting duty to make sure that I didn't kick his ass, too."

"Even though she wouldn't have minded," Miguel said while he shrugged and grimaced. 'Why them?' he asked, and my face grew darker while I set my jaw and narrowed my eyes. He frowned and tucked his head closer to his chest. 'Is it that bad?'

'Very,' I confirmed with a slight nod. "So do you mind waiting for Anthony?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

"I do not mind," he said and shook his head. 'Then go ahead and go to your grandmother and see what has happened. I'll make sure that everyone is aware that they need to meet at your house to hear this. Do you want me to tell Anthony and Corey?'

'Please.' I took a step away from him, and the urge to get my grandmother was growing stronger with each passing second while we stood her. "I will see you later. Thank you for taking my truck to the old house."

"Of course," he said and nodded. "What do you want me to say to the Alpha if he is out and about and sees me in your truck and not you?"

"Tell him something that is a half truth," I said while I shrugged and grimaced and took another step back. "Tell him that I ran home from somewhere and had a friend bring it back to the pack before I told you to get it and bring it back to my house. You don't know where it was located, so make something up."

"I will," Miguel said and nodded. "I will say something about you thinking that running would get you home faster and you forgot where you parked your truck, so you left it wherever and had a friend find it and bring it back." 'Will you tell me where it is located tonight and why you left it?'

'Yes,' I replied with a quick nod. "He might ask about a messenger from the king, so you can make something up with that. I had told him that I was talking to someone that works for him."

"Ok," he said and nodded. 'Go and be careful.'

I smirked and tucked my head closer to my chest. 'Always.'

And without another word, I turned around and left, leaving my packmate behind, grateful that he wanted to help without me telling him a lot.

Thank Goddess...
