"Grams," I said, entering my house about ten minutes later, slamming the door shut and locking the door behind me, which I normally did not do. I looked around the room and set my jaw before I started to make my way to the kitchen, for I had a feeling that she would be that way. "Where are you?"

"Coming," she said and walked into the living room from the kitchen with a small frown on her face. She slowly blinked and pressed her lips into a line, and worry flashed through her eyes while she studied me. "Come," she said and started to walk toward the basement door, and I followed her with my body growing tense.

"I-"

"Hush," she said, interrupting me while she shook her head. "I know." She looked at me and scowled, her dark brown eyes flashing, and I couldn't help but shrink back while I grimaced. "I thought I told you to be careful, Alexandra May."

I held back an eye roll and set my jaw. "I was, Grams," I said coldly. "However, that doesn't stop people from doing things that could harm me even with me trying to be careful." I tucked my head closer to my chest and pursed my lips in annoyance.

My grandmother sighed and moved a hand through her hair while she shook her head and pursed her lips in annoyance. "You as well as I know that you being under someone's control is dangerous, not only for you but for us as well."

I bit back a tired sigh and slowly nodded in confirmation, relenting. "I know," I said, clearing my throat while I grew serious. "I will make sure that nothing bad happens while I am not fully in control of myself."

"And what if you are not able to?" my grandmother asked and looked at me while she raised an eyebrow in question. She scowled and narrowed her eyes while she studied me before she turned away from me. "What if they find out that you are something different than a normal Werewolf?"

"They won't," I said and shook my head, and my heart ached because I had no idea if what I said was true or not. "That is why I want to make sure that the beast isn't in control of him. I am not sure if she will be under his control while I am under his control, but I think that is a bridge we will have to cross when we get there."

My grandmother set her jaw and slowly nodded before she looked at me. She didn't say a word and looked at me before she looked forward, picking up her pace, and I picked up my pace as well, knowing full well that was what she wanted me to do.

She opened the door to the basement and gestured for me to go downstairs, and I did what I was told to do with her following me. She closed the door behind us and locked it, and the hair on the back of my neck stood at attention.

My whole body was tense, and I quickly walked down the steps before I stopped in front of a wall with my hands behind my back. I stayed silent while I stared at her, watching as she went down the steps slowly with something in her eyes that I didn't like.

"Grams?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I set my jaw and cocked my head, studying her and hoping that the look on her face would disappear.

My grandmother gave me a tight smile and shook her head, but the look on her face didn't disappear but seemed to grow deeper. "Dont worry about it, Dear," she said before she cleared her throat and moved a hand through her hair. "I am fine."

I set my jaw and narrowed my eyes, not knowing if what she was saying was true or not.

My grandmother chuckled and shook her head, biting back a tired smile. "Don't worry about it, Dear," she said. She sighed and patted my cheek after she finished walking down the steps and made her way over to me. "I am worried, but you don't have to worry about what I am worried about."

I scowled and narrowed my eyes while I looked at her, setting my jaw. I didn't say a word while I stared at her, trying but failing to figure out what she was worried about and get her to tell me what had happened.
