She was free!

That was all she could think about as soon as she was out of her prison and fully in control of the body they shared, and she growled happily while she looked around with her ears twitching in every direction to pick up any noise that may happen around her.

Something shifted to her left and cleared their throat, and she instantly looked that way with her ears pinned to the back of her head and teeth bared. She growled when she saw an old lady standing there, and she narrowed her eyes while her whole body grew wider and lighter, becoming more like a shadow cloud than she had in the past.

She tried to take a threatening step toward the female but couldn't move toward her because of something attached to her legs.

The Shadow Wolf paused in growling at the old lady and turned her attention to look behind her. She noticed the chains connected to the wall and then to her legs, and she narrowed her eyes and bared her teeth at it, pinning her ears toward the side of her head.

How dare they put her chains and chain her to the wall! Who do they think that they are?!

The Shadow Wolf growled before she started to become more cloudlike in hopes of the chains disappearing and letting her go, but they did not and seemed to tighten around her legs in response.

The female near her chuckled sadly, and the Shadow Wolf turned her attention that way with teeth still bared and eyes narrowed into slits. She smiled and shook her head when the Shadow Wolf focused her attention on the person. "Unfortunately, you aren't able to get out of them, Dear," the female said soothingly. "You should know that by now."

The Shadow Wolf growled threateningly and bared her teeth while she narrowed her eyes, and the white teeth contrasted from the darkness of her half formed body. She tried to take a step toward the female in a threatening manner but couldn't move because of the stupid chains holding her in place.

"Stop, Dear," the female softly scolded and narrowed her eyes, growing impatient with the Shadow Wolf. "We do not have much time, and you should know that by now. You should also know who I am, Love." She took a step toward the Shadow Wolf, and the Shadow Wolf took a step back with a small growl.

"Hmph." The female tucked her head closer to her chest and bit back a small smile. "I am not going to hurt you, Sweetheart," she said soothingly. She held out her hand for the Shadow Wolf to sniff and to take in her scent, but the Shadow Wolf didn't move toward her but didn't back away either.

"Come now, Love," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You need to take in my scent so that you know who I am and get comfortable with me again." She took another step toward the Shadow Wolf, keeping her hand held out for the Shadow Wolf to sniff, and the Shadow Wolf hesitated before she did what she was told to do and smelled her hand.

Family...

This female was her family and was someone that she could trust. She wouldn't do anything to harm the Shadow Wolf or the human that she was connected to.

The Shadow Wolf growled a different growl in greeting, and moved a little closer to the female, growing darker and becoming more solid than she had been in the past. She placed her forehead on the female's hand, earning a soft chuckle from the female.

"I am glad that it took you less time than it normally does, Love," the female said, and her voice cracked before she cleared her throat and ran a hand across the top of the Shadow Wolf's head and scratched her behind her ear. "We do not have much time as it is."

The Shadow Wolf growled and pushed her head closer to the female's hand, not knowing why the female voice cracked and became filled with pain and sadness. And sadly, the Shadow Wolf did not like it at all.

The female sighed and grew serious, taking her hand off of the Shadow Wolf's head, and the Shadow Wolf stared at her with dark black eyes that seemed to be filled with a knowledge that the main part of her did not know she held.

The Shadow Wolf cocked her head to the side and stared at the female before her, silently asking the female what was wrong and why she had been contacted and was not contained like normal.

"Do you know what happened, Love?" the female asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "With your other side and her being under the control of someone else?"

The Shadow Wolf paused and pricked her ears toward the front. She poked through her human's memories to see what the female was talking about and saw that her human was under someone's control and spell, much to the Shadow Wolf's annoyance.

The Shadow Wolf growled in annoyance and was about to break the control herself only to stop when the female clicked her tongue, and she turned her attention to the female to see that the female was staring at her with an annoyed scowl on her face and amusement in her eyes.

"I know what you are thinking of doing, Dear, but do not do it," the female said and shook her head, earning another annoyed growl from the Shadow Wolf and narrowed her eyes while she bared her teeth. "Your human will take it off as soon as she is able to and when it is time."

The Shadow Wolf growled and pinned her ears to the back of her head. She bared her teeth tighter together, and her hackles became raised while she stared at the female, silently wondering why the female did not want her to break the control that someone else had over them.

"That is something that you will have to ask your counterpart, Dear," she said and tucked her head closer to her chest. She had a small, sad smile on her face, and a look of pain and sadness filled her eyes. "I want it off of her and you just as much as you do, but there is a reason as to why she wants to keep it on."

The Shadow Wolf rolled her eyes and flicked her tail in annoyance. She looked around the caged room before she looked at her family member, wondering if the family member would free her from her confines so she could hunt.

The female smiled and shook her head. "Unfortunately, I cannot," she said and moved a hand across the Shadow Wolf's head, and the Shadow Wolf growled in annoyance but closed her eyes while the female petted her head. "You are not allowed to hunt just yet, but I am sure that you will be able to do that later."

The Shadow Wolf growled again but relented with a small grumble, earning a small chuckle from the female before her. She opened her eyes and rolled her eyes while she looked at the female, silently wondering why she had been called and chained.

Her family member sighed and moved a hand through her hair and across her face. She shook her head and pressed her lips into a thin line, growing serious. "Are you able to not be under the person's command while she is under her control?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Or are you free from it?"

The Shadow Wolf blinked and looked at her with an annoyed look on her face. Her ears were flat to the side of her head while she stared at the female but didn't question why she asked.

The female sighed and tucked her head closer to her chest while she stared at the Shadow Wolf. "I'm serious, Dear," she said. "This is a matter of life and death for many if you are controlled by them." She paused and licked her lips before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Is there a chance that you will be under the person's control without being able to counteract what they want you to do?" She paused and licked her lips. "Can you be under their control?"

The Shadow Wolf bit back a tired sigh and shook her head, silently indicating that she would not be under the person's control if she was commanded to take this form, much to the relief of her family member, whose shoulders sagged with relief and the weight of the world was lifted from her shoulder.

And when the time was right, she would be the one to take the control off of her human form so that she would no longer be under someone else's control besides their own.

If only they were able to keep her hidden until then...
