I was on my side when I slowly started to go back to the land of the living and in control of my body, and my whole body was sore while my heart pounded hard and fast in my chest. I bit back a small groan and furrowed my brows closer together while I clenched my hand into a fist.
"Alexandra, Dear?" I heard someone ask above me with their voice barely above a whisper. Someone moved a hand through my hair and across my forehead, making sure that I wasn't running a fever, which happened every so often after I had shifted into my other form and then shifted back into my human form. "Are you waking up?"
"Yes," I said, my voice barely above a whisper while I licked my lips when I felt that my lips were dry. I cleared my throat and shifted on my side, closing my eyes tighter than I had it while I bit back a small groan. "I'm starting to wake up."
My grandmother breathed a small sigh of relief while she slowly nodded. "How are you feeling, Dear?" she asked, raising an eyebrow in question. She moved a hand through my hair some more before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Can you open your eyes for me, Love?"
I furrowed my brows but did what I was told to do and opened my eyes so that I could see a blurry figure of my grandmother, standing over me with tears in my eyes. I tried to smile at her, but it looked more like a grimace than anything else.
My grandmother bit back a small smile and tucked her head closer to her chest. She moved a hand through my hair again, and I closed my eyes while I bit back a tired sigh. "How are you feeling?" she asked again and raised an eyebrow in question.
"Thirsty," I said, my voice cracking ever so slightly before I cleared my throat and licked my lips. "And sore."
My grandmother hummed and slowly nodded. "You have a slight fever," she said. "Do you think you will be able to talk to everyone about what is going on with you, or do you think you should go to bed and talk to everyone later?" She put an emphasis on going to bed, and I knew that was what she wanted me to do, but unfortunately, I knew that wasn't an option, especially since I had to do this before I was being controlled by them again.
"I can't," I said and shook my head, struggling to sit up while my grandmother tsked and shook her head. "I can't go to bed just yet, Grams. I want to make sure that everyone is aware of what is going on and to make sure that they know the plan to keep us safe and me in the dark."
"And what plan is that, Dear?" my grandmother asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "That you are going to be controlled every so often and that no one can tell you anything in fear of it getting leaked to them?"
"Basically," I said and shrugged with a small grimace. "However, I have to make sure that they think I don't talk while I am under their control. I'll make sure that no one knows what I am hiding and will make sure that my pack stays safe."
My grandmother pressed her lips into a thin line and moved a hand through my hair. "Do you think it would be time for me to unlock you from your chains?" she asked, changing the subject because she knew that I wouldn't change my mind while she raised an eyebrow in question.
"Please," I said and nodded in confirmation. I bit back a tired sigh and closed my eyes while I waited for my grandmother to take the chains off of my legs so that I would be able to stand. "Do you have any tea for me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper while I opened my eyes so that I could watch her take the chains off of my ankles.
"Not yet," she said and shook her head before she went to take the chains off of my ankles. "I will get you something to drink while you wait for everyone to appear. Do you know if someone else will come to you that you aren't expecting or not?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question while she glanced at me from the corner of her eye.
I was about to shake my head but paused when a thought of Filip appearing at our door appeared in my mind because I knew that something could have triggered something inside of him. "I do not know if Filip will appear just to make sure that I am safe, but I think that he might. I have a feeling that he knows that that side has taken over and will be appearing shortly."
My grandmother bit back a small chuckle and slowly nodded. "Ok," she said. She stood and walked over to my side, clearing her throat. "Here let's get you standing, ok?" She held out her hand for me to take, and I opened my eyes and looked at her hand before I hesitantly placed my hand in hers. "You might want to take a shower first before everything else because I know that will help you."
I bit back a small groan and slowly nodded, letting her help me stand while I pursed my lips in annoyance. "Fine," I grumbled and leaned against her while I tried to become steady on my feet. "Do you think there will be others that I don't know about coming to visit, or will I have to visit them?" I asked when a thought of Horus appeared in my mind.
My grandmother tsked and pressed her lips into a thin line. She made sure that I was stable before she started to lead me to the cell door with me practically leaning against her. "That is a possibility," she said with a small hum in her voice while she tapped my arm, "even though I am sure that he already knows what happened and will be around sooner or later." She sighed and shook her head, making sure that I was safe while we walked. "Or you will be visiting him to make sure that there isn't any way that you will be "fully" under their control."
I set my jaw, and my whole body grew tense as soon as she said those words. "So is my shadow wolf safe and not under their control?" I asked, and my grandmother chuckled and slowly nodded. I breathed a small sigh of relief and relaxed ever so slightly, even though I was still tense. "So there is nothing we have to worry about, or is it too soon to tell?"
My grandmother sighed and shifted me so that she was able to open the door to the cell. "Unfortunately, it is too soon for us to tell, Dear," she said and walked out of the cell with me following her but still at her side. "I'm hoping that you will be able to do what you need to do without breaking the "spell" or succumbing to it and hurting the ones you have sworn to protect, but there is a chance that it will happen." She gave me a pointed look.
I set my jaw and narrowed my eyes, biting back a small growl that wanted to come out when she said that but didn't.
My whole body grew tense, and I bristled ever so slightly at the thought of hurting my group or the rest of the Werewolf community that I swore to protect. "That's not going to happen, Grams," I said and bared my teeth while my eyes flashed to those of my wolf. "And if it does, then so help those that have killed me because if I die, I will come back from hell and bring every tortured soul that they had ever killed, for no reason, with me so that they will be able to get the revenge that they deserved."
And with me leading the cause no matter what...
