It was a schoolwide fact that Ted Butch, nicknamed "Farmer Ted", was a complete flirt. Did it make you any less surprised when he tried to hit on you at the school dance? No.
"Hey, [Name]!" he shouted through the din, hopping and weaving between people as the song continued.
You turned and smiled at him, being the friendly person you were. He was a bit of a creep, but you knew he was just a horny teenager. "Hiya, Ted! What's up?"
He looked back at his friends, who were leaning against the bleachers with large smirks painted on their faces. He turned back to you and rubbed his wrist. "Can you . . . I mean would you . . . I want to take you out sometime?"
You chuckled a little, nudging his shoulder with your own. "You're funny, Ted. Sure, I'll go out with you."
The smile on his face couldn't be wiped off for the rest of the night.
