As Adi savored the last bite of the cake, he glanced at the clock.
Adi : I have to head back to the station,
He said, a touch of regret in his voice. Tara nodded understandingly.
Adi : How will you go home?
He asked, turning to Tara.
Tara : Shakti will drop me home.
She assured him. Adi stood up, his eyes searching Tara's face.
Adi : Be careful, okay? If anything happens, call me immediately.
He said, his voice laced with concern.
Adi : Do you have my number?
He asked, a playful glint in his eyes.
Tara pouted cutely, shaking her head no. Adi smiled and pulled out his phone, dialling his number and handing it to her.
He pulled out his phone and exchanged numbers with both Tara and Shakti. As he was about to save Tara's number, a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. He saved her number as 'Rowdy' while she saved his as 'Police'. Neither of them realized the playful names they save for each other as.
Adi bid bye to Tara and Shakti and heads towards his car. As they start working on the cakes, Shakti turns to Tara.
Shakti : So, did your family agree?
Tara smiled.
Tara : Yes, Adi talked to them. They were quite understanding and gave their consent.
Shakti : Some families wouldn't allow a girl to work. They are traditional.
Tara: Fortunately, my family values my independence and career. I'm grateful for their support.
Shakti : I was worried you wouldn't come back and I'd have to handle everything alone.
Tara : No, I wont leave my cakes all alone.
Shakti : So, you weren't thinking about me la, cake a dhaan nenachutu irundhingalo.
Tara : hmmm......aama cake u dhan mukiyam pinna nee ya mukiyam.
Shakti : Sollunga thalaivi sollunga.....enna lam solamudiyumo sollunga ungaluku help pandren la enaku idhuvum venum idhuku melayum venum.
Shakti told in a playful manner.
Tara, however, didn't appreciate the playful tone. With a stern look, she replied,
Tara : We're partners, Shakti, not boss and employee. We both own this place, remember that. Innoru dhadava nee ipdi pesuna vachikoen.....
She showed a gesture like she would cut Shakti's tongue.
Shakti, realizing he had crossed a line, quickly raised his hands in surrender.
Shakti : "Okay, okay, I get it," he said, his voice laced with amusement. "No more jokes, I promise."
Tara : I know it's just a joke, but it's important to me that we respect each other as equal partners. This shop is our dream, and we built it together.
Shakti: I know, I know. I'm sorry if I crossed a line.
Shakti : Okay, okay, he replied, raising his hands in surrender. "I promise I'll be good."
They both chuckled, the tension easing. As they continued working side by side.
Tara and Shakti's bond ran deeper than mere friendship. Neighbours since childhood, they had grown up together, sharing secrets, laughter, and dreams. Shakti, a bright spark with a tragic past, lost his father at a young age. His mother, a pillar of strength, raised him with unwavering love. Unfortunately, she too passed away a year before he and Tara finished school.
Left alone, Shakti found solace in Tara's family, who welcomed him with open arms. They treated him like their own son, providing the warmth and support he craved. It was during these challenging times that their bond deepened, a testament to their enduring friendship.
Tara, ever the dreamer, had always harbored a passion for baking. She would spend hours experimenting with different flavours and techniques. Shakti, noticing her talent, encouraged her to pursue her passion. Together, they dreamt of opening a cake shop. With the support of Tara's family, they transformed this dream into reality.
Their partnership was built on trust, respect, and a shared vision. Tara was the creative genius, while Shakti was the business-minded strategist. They complemented each other perfectly, their strengths intertwining to create a harmonious balance. Their shop, a haven of sweetness and warmth, quickly gained popularity, their cakes becoming the talk of the town.
Just five months into their entrepreneurial journey, Tara's life took an unexpected turn. As she prepared to bid farewell to her beloved shop, a bittersweet feeling washed over her. But with Shakti by her side, she knew that her dream was in capable hands.
Tara's Sweet Cravings was a quaint little shop tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. Its pastel pink exterior and the gentle clinking of wind chimes created an inviting atmosphere. The interior was equally charming, with soft yellow walls adorned with whimsical cake-themed artwork. A glass display case showcased the day's special cakes, each one a miniature masterpiece.
Tara, a passionate baker with a flair for the dramatic, meticulously crafted each cake. Her shop catered primarily to students from the nearby university and young professionals working in the area. The cakes were priced affordably, making them a popular choice for a quick treat or a small indulgence.
Every evening, Tara would unveil a new tray of five cakes. It was a daily ritual that had her customers eagerly anticipating the next flavour. The cakes were displayed on a pristine white tray, each one adorned with intricate details.
A young couple, their eyes sparkling with anticipation, stepped into the bakery. The sweet aroma of freshly baked goods filled the air, mingling with the soft clinking of wind chimes. Shakti, ever the welcoming host, greeted them with a warm smile. Tara, engrossed in her final touches to the cakes, offered a quick wave.
What's the flavour of the day? the young woman inquired, her eyes scanning the display case.
Tara : It's blueberry vanilla today.
Shakti, looks puzzled. He remembers Tara had decided on raspberry and milk cake earlier. He doesn't question her immediately as the customer is waiting.
Shakti : (thinking) Why did she change the cake flavour?
After serving the customer, Shakti and Tara are at the counter, tidying up. Shakti decides to ask her.
Shakti : Tara, why did you change the cake flavour? I thought it was supposed to be raspberry and milk.
Tara smiles knowingly.
Tara : Because adhu avaruku pudichuruku la. Adhaan edachum special occasion ku andha cake irukum.
Shakti suddenly remembers that Tara had made the raspberry cake alone. Usually, they bake together, but this time, she had made only one piece by herself. He smirks and smiles at her, understanding the special reason behind her decision.
Shakti : (smiling) Ahaaaaannnn. Ipo puriyudhu......
