moonbyul was overcome with pride as she stood backstage, watching the final moments of the show unfold. the show turned out great. no. it turned out amazing. and at the moment, riki's band was on stage and the air buzzed with anticipation as they wrapped up the last song.

her heart swelled with satisfaction when she heard the applause that erupted, a wave of sound that reverberated off the walls and seemed to amplify the already heightened emotions in the room. but just as moonbyul was beginning to relax, confident in the success of the evening, riki's voice rang out from the stage, clear and resonant, cutting through the noise of the crowd.

"before i step off this stage" he began, his tone sincere and steady " i would like to sing one last song, and it's a dedication to the girl that broke my heart, to tell her that i want her still" riki says into the mic.

the audience's reaction was immediate, a surge of excitement that swept through them like a tidal wave. cheers, gasps and whispers filled the place, and it's obvious that about 80% of people there were able to connect the dots and figure out who this girl that was so dear to riki was.

moonbyul scoffs in disbelief, unable to deny the hint of anger she felt because of his boldness. one thing's for sure— she never broke his heart or anything of that sort, after all, he didn't have feelings for her to begin with, so the unnecessarily dramatic statement certainly managed to strike a nerve. if she doesn't 'take him back' after this, she will appear like a bad person, and the idea of keeping up her fake relationship with riki  is stressing moonbyul in advance.

she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest, but her heart demands to skip a beat when she hears the first notes of the song being to play. the melody was unmistakable, the melody of her favorite song, and it hit her like a punch in the gut. the tune of nervous by the neighborhood filled the auditorium, moonbyul felt rooted on the spot, unable to tear her eyes away from riki on the stage.

"you got me nervous to speak
so i just won't say anything at all"

moonbyul's mind raced. she knew what this song meant, knew what it meant to her, and the fact that riki had chosen it— had chosed to sing it in front of everyone— was almost too much to process.

"i've got an urge to release
and you keep telling me to hold on"

it was as if he had reached into her soul and pulled out a piece to use it against her. and yet she couldn't help but listen to his soft voice, her emotions a tangled mess as the lyrics washed over her, leaving her more confused than ever.
