*Shadow's POV *
"Shadow. I need to talk to you." Aleena said as Sonic walked out to go meet with the kids in their rooms. I looked back at her and walked closer.
"Aleena? What's wrong?" I asked confused. She reached for my hand and placed something in it.
"I tried to do what you wanted and gave the ring to who you thought should have it. Sonic only has eyes for you. Don't wait any longer." I opened my hand and saw the engagement ring she had given me years back to propose to Sonic with. I smiled softly and nodded.
Now wasn't the right time but I would surely use it soon. I was ready, and I hoped Sonic was too. She had even let Sonic leave to move in with me, she was happy we were back together and was excited for us.
"Thank you, Aleena." I left the room and went to Sonics room where he had gathers the kids at. I opened the door and all 3 of them looked at me both shocked and confused.
"Dad?" Noah asked as he looked at me.
"Dad what are you doing here? Is everything okay?" Shade asked.
"Are we in danger again?" Lea asked and I shook my head. I walked closer to them and hugged them then sat down in the couch, beside Sonic.
"We needed to talk to you about something important. We both needed to be here to talk about this." Sonic started and I nodded.
"Well what is it?" Shade asked.
"What do you think about your parents getting back together?" I asked and they all looked at us in pure shock then their smiled appeared, brightly.
"What?!" Noah said in shock then laughed. "Really? When? How?"
"I guess they don't mind." Sonic chuckled, I pulled him closer and kissed his forehead making the kids groan at that.
"PDA!" Shade shouted and covered his eyes making us laugh.
"Does this mean you're going to move in the castle again?" Lea asked with a giggle at his brother.
"No. It means all of you are moving in with me." I said and rolled my eyes playfully at Shade then kissed Sonic in the lips making Sonic tense lightly and laugh in the kiss.
"Eww!" Noah and Shade said making us laugh again.
"Aww." Lea smiled.
I had to help them the rest of the day to pack their stuff and take them to our new place. Rouge found out when she walked into my house to bring me food and would not let go of me for 5 minutes straight. She first scolded me,then hugged me, then cried for me, then laughed with me and now she was hugging me again until the ring fell out of my quills.
"Whats this~?" Rouge said as she picked it up from the floor. I snatched it back before Sonic could see it and put it away again. "Are you?"
"Yes. I want to. Just not today. I want him to rest." I said and she nodded.
"What about tomorrow?"
"Maybe. Depends how today goes." I sighed and she hugged me again. This time, I managed to pull away. "I feel like it's too soon."
"Soon? No. You ask him tomorrow or I'll come and force you to. You waited too long the first time." I nodded, agreeing with her because she wasn't wrong. The first time I was always worried it wasn't the right time and never proposed.
"Fine." I chuckled then left to help them unpack. "I'll talk to the kids so they can help me."
*Sonic's POV *
"Can I sleep with you?" I said shyly as I walked into the master bedroom, Shadow was setting his stuff down. He looked up at me and smiled. I missed that. I missed seeing him smile only to me.
"Are you sure?" He asked and I nodded then he nodded as well. "Of course. As long as you're not forcing yourself to."
"Hmmm. Nah." I walked closer to him after I closed the door behind me and wrapped my arms around his neck. "I feel comfortable with you, plus it's not like you and I haven't slept together before. What? Shade just spawned?"
He laughed at that and wrapped his arms around my waist then nodded. "Alright. I just don't want you to rush yourself." He kissed my forehead and hugged me again.
"I don't want to start from the beginning with you, we are past all that but I don't want to do anything just yet." I said and he nodded. I was glad Shadow would never push me to do something he didn't want. "I have a surprise for you tomorrow."
"A surprise?" Shadow asked and I nodded.
"Yes. I'm excited to show you." I nuzzled him making him lowly purr and very lightly blush.
"Let's go to sleep then. We can finish everything tomorrow." He said and I nodded. The kids were already asleep and I had already told them what I wanted to do to surprise Shadow.
The next morning when I woke up, Shadow was not in bed with me but I did smell the sweet smell of pancakes coming from the kitchen and the smell of coffee. As well as I heard the kids laughing downstairs.
I looked up at the ceiling with a bright smile then looked to the nightstand, my heart warming up to what was about to happen today.
