During Changbin's break, he decided to give his parents a call. He wanted to let them know as soon as possible about him and Felix.
He didn't have to wait long, as his mother almost instantly took the call. "Binnie! How are you?" said Mrs. Seo. "Are you enjoying your job?"
"I'm fine mom." Changbin said with a smile. "And work is good. But, there's something I wanna tell you."
"Oh?" said Mrs Seo. "What's it about?"
"Is dad home?" Changbin asked.
"No sweetie, he's not." said Mrs. Seo. "He left early to job hunt again and isn't back yet."
Changbin sighed. He figured as much, but decided to tell him mom anyway. "Mom, I'm seeing someone." he said.
Changbin could hear his mother gasp on the other side. "Binnie, this is quite the surprise." she said. "Might I ask who it is?"
"It's Felix, mom." said Changbin.
"Felix?" said his mom. "Oh yes, the young Aussie. Chan's cousin, right?"
"Yeah mom, that's him." Changbin said with a proud smile on his face.
"Oh Binnie, I'm so happy for you!" said Mrs. Seo. "I thought you 2 looked sweet together."
Changbin was lucky that his mom couldn't see his ears turning red. But then the next thing she said made him worry a bit.
"What about Hyunjin?" she said. "Have you managed to help him at all?"
"Unfortunately, no." Changbin said with a frown. "I tried, but he kept closing himself off. I thought I made some progress, but he just up and left and we haven't seen him since."
"Oh dear." said Mrs. Seo. "Poor thing." Despite everything that went down with the breakup, she still believed that there was more behind it. She felt genuinely bad for Hyunjin just as much as Changbin.
"But anyways, I wanna bring him over one of these days for dinner." says Changbin. "You know, to formally introduce him."
"That's a wonderful idea Binnie." said Mrs. Seo. "But may I suggest doing it after your father finds a job first. He's been coming home very tired since he's been looking for a job."
"Mom, tell dad not to push himself so hard." says Changbin. "That's why I'm helping out here."
"You know how your father is Binnie." his mom says with a chuckle. "If he's not out and about, he's not happy."
Changbin knows this all too well. His father has always been an active man for as far back as he can remember. He knows that him being without a job is driving him crazy. Still, he wishes that he wouldn't push himself so hard in finding a new one.
"Well, my break is almost over mom." said Changbin.
"Alright sweetie." said Mrs. Seo. "It was good hearing from you. Bye."
"Bye mom." Changbin said as he ended the call. He finished cleaning up his mess as he was about to go clock back in.
As he headed out, Chan headed in to start his break. "Go get em Bin." he said as he patted Changbin's back.
"Thanks." said Changbin. "By the way, I told my mom about me and Lix."
"That's great Bin?" said Chan. "How'd it go?"
"Really well." said Changbin. "I'll tell you when we get off."
"Alright." said Chan as Changbin left the break room.
He was greatful that the break room had vending machines that provided healthy drinks for good hydration.
Him and Changbin always packed a healthy lunch before coming to work, and they usually packed a bottle of water. But this time, Chan wanted a drink with electrolytes.
