Sitara finished organising Rashmi's room and came downstairs to check on Rehan. He is her husband and she needs to check on his needs. No matter how much she hates him the truth won't change.
What she was after coming wasn't something she was expecting. Rashmi was hovering over Rehan and doing something. Sitara walked towards them and saw her stitching the button of his kurta.
Rehan is very tall and Rashmi doesn't match his height as she is young. That's why she asked him to sit while she was doing the work.
Sitara noticed how Rashmi was being unnecessarily close to Rehan, which she didn't like at all. Her husband is only hers no matter what the equation is between both of them no other woman can touch him.
"Apke kurte ka button tut gaya hai kya Humein bula lete hum sil dete. (Is the button of your kurta broken you could have call me i would have stitch it)" Sitara said to gain both of their attention
"Tum to hamara kamra saaf kar rahi thi na isliye Humne kar diya. Humein Ata hai ye sab karna. (you were cleaning my room that's why I did it. I know how to do all this.)" Rashmi said and smiled which was fake obviously
"Humein kaam pe jana hai deri ho rahi hai hamara tiffin la do. (I need to go to work. I'm getting late bring my tiffin.)" Rehan said and Sitara hummed in response
She has prepared it and kept it aside so when he needs it she can give it to him. After giving him that she stood there until he left her sight.
There are many old maids working here who are good to her and can tell her whatever she needs to know. Her sense is telling that whatever Rashmi is doing is not normal. Her body language around Rehan changes completely. She acts as a shy sweet girl which she isn't. Both mother and daughter are the same chameleons.
She is working in the kitchen and saw one of her mother's friends working with her. It's the correct time to ask her as no one else is here.
"Masi ji ap se Humein kuch janna hai aap batayenge Humein? (aunty I want to know something will you tell me?)" Sitara asked the woman who smiled and nodded
"Rashmi kya hamare pati ke sath hamesha se aisa hi bartav karti hai? Unke aage piche ghumna unke liye cheezein karna. Wo aisi hi hai kya? (Does Rashmi behave like this with my husband all the time? Like roaming around him doing stuff for him. Is she like this?)" Sitara asked
"Ha wo aisi hi hai Bachpan se. Rehan sahab ke sath zyada hi kareeb hai wo. Unke paas kisi ko bhatak ne bhi nahi deti hai. Rehan Sahab ne bhi nazon se pala hai apni behen ko. Isiliye to abhi tak shadi nahi karai warna to un logon me choti umra me shadi ho jati hai. Bahut prem karte hai wo apni behen se.
(yes she is like that from her childhood. She is very close to Rehan sir. She doesn't let anyone go closer to him. Rehan sir has raised his sister with luxury and love. That's the reason they didn't get her married otherwise they get married at an early age. He loves his sister very much.)" That woman replied and Sitara nodded
Rashmi's behaviour is off with Rehan. She always tries to be his wife, which she clearly isn't. The line between sister and wife is blurred for her it seems.
Sitara was about to have her lunch when suddenly her mother in law came and pulled her hair in a painful grip making her stand.
"Bol hamari beti ka zewar kaha hai. Aj tune uske kamre ki safai ki hai na? (tell where my daughter's jewellery is. You cleaned her room today isn't it?)" Jahanara begum shouted and slapped her as well
Sitara didn't understand what was happening; she was shocked because of the turn of events. Till now only Rehan slapped her, now his mother did it as well.
