Rexy started knocking down trees as they creaked and crashed onto the snow ground below.

Archelon chopped them into logs with his Sword as I tied ropes with dry plant fibers.

Eznior summoned snow golems with magic to help construct the base.

Baboon watched from my shoulder.

Zekrom used Archelon's cooled magma as cement to fix things together!

We worked and we worked, laboriously carrying timber back and fourth and building up the walls from the foundations.

. . .

After 6 days of hard work, the base was finally completed, providing more than enough space for not just myself but the entire party and guests if we ever had any.

The Fortress-like base consisted of an outer wall to provide protection from outside threats. You'd have to pass through the Gatehouse to pass through, behind which was the first main courtyard which was decorated with newly planted saplings, grasses and flowers, all collected throughout the Journey thus far. In the middle of the base was the Keep which housed our bedrooms and other important storage utilities. This was overlooked by a tall watchtower and small workshops; areas for smelting, crafting and cooking.

The Fortress was primarily made from wood, timber and ceramic tiles but the foundations were strong with stone and earth, held together by basalt cement.

Baboon scouted out the nearest neighbours while we furnished the fort.

After we had finished, Baboon returned having located a small house nearby.

We all headed there to greet the locals

The nearest house belonged to an Ice Mage who wore a hood and a red sash.

"Hello neighbor!" I called out.

He was startled and sent a sharp piece of ice shrapnel at me out of instinct!

It missed.

"Woah watch it. I'm not a foe," I said with my hands up.

"Many dangerous animals come through these parts. It's instinct to attack on sound," The Ice Mage replied.

"What kinds of wild animals?" I asked.

"Any kind. Even ones that aren't meant to be in the snow... It's weird," He replied.

"I would be happy to go out and slay the pests and monsters for some coin," I proposed.

"I'm fine. They haven't been a hassle," The Mage whistled and a tall Ice Golem appeared.

"That's an impressive golem you have. I'm trying to find some work around here, I'm settled just over there," I pointed in the direction of my fortress.

"I won't pay you to kill the animals, but some of them are rare. You could catch them or sell their hide for good money," The Mage suggested.

"I will take that opportunity. What kind of hide or creatures you after?" I asked.

"I won't buy it. Others will," The Mage replied, gesturing down the snow-cleared road to the other yurts and houses.

"Ok. Thanks for the advice. How do you think I should sell it. Set up a stall or is there some sort of marketplace where I can buy a reserve to sell my items?" I asked.

"I don't know the answer to that. I don't sell hide," The Mage replied.

"Do you sell or trade anything of any description?" I asked.
