I was in my bedroom and held up two dresses. One in dark blue and one in brown. I was indecisive when it mattered the most, so I needed the opinion from my best friend.
Chloé layed on my bed and looked back and forth between the dresses a couple of times.
»I'd pick the dark blue!«
I nodded and put the brown dress back in my wardrobe.
As I began to change, Chloé started to talk again.
»Are you nervous?«
I shook my head and adjusted my dress a little bit.
»Not really.«
I wasn't lying. The date with Noah was tomorrow and I still didn't feel nervous about it. I was more nervous about the fact that I'm going on a date again rather than going on a date with Noah. If that makes sense.

»Is that a good sign?«
Chloé asked, almost with a concerned voice and sat up from my bed.
I replied: »I don't know, I won't judge it beforehand or think about it too much. Maybe no nervousness is good.«, with a smile and circled around myself to show off the dress.
Maybe it really is. Maybe no nervousness was what I needed. Calmness.
»Looks great on you V! Everything looks great on you.«
Chloé stated with a smile and took a pillow from my bed to put it in front of her stomach.
I blew her a kiss and took my dress off again.
»I just love you!«
She blew a kiss back at me with a laugh and laid down on my bed again.
My phone started to light up in front of me on my bed as I was about to put my pants back on.
»Noah?«
Chloé asked and adjusted her hair.
I shrugged my shoulders and put my tshirt over my head.
»Probably, I asked him when he's gonna come and pick me up.«
I thought about driving to the restaurant by myself but it was the first date and I figured arriving together would make it less awkward.
I sat down on my bed with my back facing Chloé and grabbed my phone to unlock it.

It wasn't Noah. It was Mr. Mathers.
"I'm still waiting for my answer.«, was all he wrote.
»And?«
I heard from behind and turned my head to face Chloé again.
I didn't know what to answer because I haven't been able to tell her that I gave my private phone number to a client.
»He's coming to pick me up at 5.«
was all I muttered.
I didn't want to lie to her. Well technically it wasn't lying, it was just keeping some information from her. Which is lying.
I didn't know why I didn't tell her it was actually Mr. Mathers, and not Noah.
Well, I couldn't say his name.
But I could've told her it was Eric's client.
No, it was amateurish to give out my number.
»Someone sounds euphorically.«
Chloé replied and raised her eyebrows.
She was starting to get skeptical.

I put a smile on my face and let myself fall onto my bed next to her.
»Come on!«
I mumbled and looked at my ceiling.
»I don't want you to date because you feel obligated to.«
Chloé murmured and put her head on my shoulder.
»I don't feel obligated to Chloé.«, I stated and started to play with my hands.
»I feel good, I really do. I finally have the feeling that I'm completely healed and Noah is nice, so I give it a shot.«
I added.
«I'm so curious what you're gonna tell me after the date.«
Chloé said with an exciting tone and I smiled at her.
»Me too, but I think it's going to be nice. We're eating chinese in an old restaurant Downtown, it's near the river.«
Chloé slightly squeaked and I let out a laugh.
She's the best friend anyone would want to have.
»I need to meet him.«
She stated with a serious tone and my laughter continued.
»Slow down, that's our first date!«
»Do you want to eat something? I have mexican leftovers.«
I asked her and before she could answer, her stomach growled.
I chuckled: »I take that as a yes!«

We placed ourselves on my balcony and began to eat. It wasn't a huge balcony but I made the best out of it - in my opinion. I had a lot of plants everywhere, a lounge set and jar lanterns. My Mom gifted me a small potting bench around a year ago because she loved my new hobby. I got more into plants after the breakup with David when I was desperately trying to find a new meaning in life. I sound like a depressed gardener.
