Throughout the whole week, all I did was having appointments with my newest clients and wrote emails. It'd be pretty depressing if I wouldn't make good money.
It definitely didn't fulfill me. It was job for me, not my work. If this lonny bin would feel like work to me someday, I might need to look for something else. Or get help. Or both.

Yesterday, Chloé came back from her vacation in France with her fiancé and I couldn't be happier. I had a good bond with everyone in the office but my bond with Chloé is different. I wouldn't just tell anyone in my office my secrets and trust them. And she's french, that's a big bonus. I could talk to her in french without anyone knowing what we're saying. Even though my french isn't the best, I only learned it through my Dad and talking to him. Chloé actually lived in Paris until she was 20.

I was sitting with her in the cafeteria and ate my chocolate cake while she told me about her trip to France.
"Remember how I told you how excited I am about this trip? I was so wrong V, you don't even know."
I furrowed my eyebrows and poked my cake.
"You hid it well behind your pictures then!"

She sent me every detail about their trip. Chloé and Lucas at the Louvre, Chloé and Lucas at the Tour Eiffel, Chloé and Lucas at the Champs-Élysées, Chloé and Lucas at a random restaurant next to the Seine.
Everything.

"It was, but we still fought a lot, which we usually don't do."
She began to speak.
"First of all, he woke me up at 7am, I repeat 7am, when our flight was at 1pm! Who does that?"
She asked rhetorically.
"We drove there and he was stressing me out, asking thousands of questions to every stewardess he could find and he also didn't let me hold onto my own passport because, and I quote 'you'd lose it'!"
I tried my best not to laugh, Chloé was clumsy and already misplaced her green card once. We turned their house upside down to find it.

"I may not be like Lucas that wants everything to be clean an organized but I'm not messy, and yes I admit it, I already almost lost important documents but it's not fair to hold this against me forever!"
The more Chloé talked about the trip, the more angry she got.
"When we arrived at his family's apartment, all I wanted to do was lay down with him for maybe one or two hours to rest! I was tired of all the traveling and the time zones but he immediately wanted to get going to go eat with our families. That still had time!"
She stated and drank from her apple juice.
"Then he was mad and accused me of not wanting to spend time with his family, but mine was also there so it didn't make any sense!"

Lucas and Chloé met at their university and have been a couple ever since. When he got the opportunity from his company to move to the US, he immediately agreed and Chloé went with him. It's been almost 4 years since that happened. His family never really liked her, which is why she wants to keep vacations at his family's house to a minimum but at the same time, doesn't want to make him feel like he needed to choose between her and his family.

"Hey, how are you Chloé?"
I heard Eric from behind and turned around.
"Can I talk to you for a second?"
He immediately added and looked at me.
I furrowed my eyebrows and glanced over to Chloé which furrowed her eyebrows.
I nodded and followed his way towards the end of the cafeteria.

"What did you specifically talk about with Mr. Mathers?"
Eric began to talk as we stood in a more private area and got straight to the point.
"I already told you?"
I answered which sounded more like a question.
"Are you sure? Because he asked me about you today after our meeting."
My eyes got bigger and I looked him perplexed in the eyes.

"Really? What did he ask?"
I asked and immediately regretted the question after Eric's facial expressions changed.
"Oh god Val, please no!"
He said with a begging tone.
"I just wanna know what you both were talking about me!"
I answered and rolled my eyes.
"I didn't! He just asked some things about you!"
Eric answered right away.
"He asked why you weren't there this time to, and I quote, 'entertain him'."
I nodded and slightly laughed at him.
"And this is why you were making a scene and came to the cafeteria? Jesus Eric, anything else?"
I asked him, still with a little smile on my face.
