One night, after a long day at work, Meera was locking up her garage when she heard the familiar sound of Ananya's scooter approaching.
"Meera, I brought something!" Ananya called out, waving a bag of snacks as she hopped off her scooter.
Meera chuckled, opening the gate for her. "Midnight cravings, huh?"
Ananya grinned as she spread out the contents of the bag—a variety of local Jaipur street food, from piping hot pakoras to sweet jalebis. "I couldn't resist. I thought we could share."
They sat on the steps outside the garage, the night air cool and crisp. Between bites, they talked about their day, their dreams, and their fears. There was something comforting about sharing a meal in the quiet of the night, away from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives.
As Meera took a bite of a particularly spicy pakora, she winced, making Ananya laugh. "Too hot for you, mechanic?"
"Just a bit," Meera admitted, reaching for a sweet jalebi to cool the heat. "But totally worth it."
Their laughter echoed through the empty streets, a sound of pure joy and companionship.
