Shutting the door to my chambers shut, I stroked over to one of the chairs off to the side of the room. Light shining inside from the windows.

I grumbled angrily under my breath. "Princess this, princess that. Act like a proper lady. Can I not be just myself for once in this god forsaken kingdom!"

Slamming myself down into the chair, I bright a leg up and began untying the laces of my boot. "It's all about class and not being an embarrassment to him."

Ripping off my boot, I tossed it towards the side just as Amelia opened the door and stepped in, holding a tray of tea and cookies. "What is it this time that made you so upset, your highness." She asked, closing the door behind her and walking over to me.

"My Father." I groaned, getting my other boot off and also tossing that one. "He only cares about pleasing the nobles and doesn't want me to embarrass him in front of them. I mean, why must I have to act like someone I am not!"

Tossing my head back, I slumped back into my chair as Amelia sat the tray down on the table and began fixing me a cup of hibiscus tea, adding three sugar cubes. "Perhaps if I was born a boy, he shall let me have just a little more freedom."

Amelia stir the cup before handing it to me. I took it, sitting up and went to take a sip, cup in one hand with the tiny saucer in the other.

The tea burned my tongue, causing me to wince and pull the cup away from my lips. "You could have gave me some warning before I burned my tongue."

I frowned, seeing my tea down on the table in front of me. "My deepest apologies, your highness." I shook my head, sighing. Quickly getting over the tea burning me. Tapping my finger against the wooden arm of my seat.

"And there is this important guest that is coming and he wants me to be on my best behavior. Ain't I always on my best behavior whenever we have guest over?" I turned to Amelia.

"Of course, your highness." A small groaned left me. "Amelia, please. Enough with the play, say what you really think. You always do and know that I do not mind it, you are the only person that really speaks your true mind around me."

She placed the plate of cookies down on the table. "If you really want it, your highness."

"You know I do." She sighed, interlocking her fingers and placing her hands in front of her. "To be honest, your highness, you are kind of rude."

I reached over to grab a cookie from the pile, bring it up to my mouth and taking a small bite, chewing as I spoke. "How so?"

"When any noble man or lady upsets you, you in return, embarrass them like spilling a glass of wind on their clothing or tripping them as they walk by. But you do it settle ways so you cannot be blamed, that still doesn't stop the fact that those nobles go to your father to complain."

Shrugging, I took another bite of my cookie. "Well, it wasn't my fault that they were so annoying to deal with. So many nobles bugging me to marry their sons, a bother really."

Finishing the cookie, I dust the crumbs off my hand. Going to take another, but stopped when hearing a loud commotion coming from outside.

Giving a small glance to Amelia who looked as equally as confused, I stood up from the chair and limped over to the balcony.

Pushing open the doors, I strolled over to the railings and looked down to see what all the fuss was about.

Seeing the front entrance gate open and a familiar looking carriage stroll in, my eyes widened. Seeing my father at the entrance of the castle patiently waiting, something he does not do.

Not for any noble or royal from the neighboring kingdoms. Don't tell me, is that the important guest Father is huffing and puffing about? By the gods.

Tightly gripping the railings with my hands, I watched as the carriage stopped. Father didn't move a muscle as a knight of this unknown kingdom, moved over and opened the door to the carriage, bowing his head.

My eyes widened and my heart skipped a beat when a beautiful woman with long black hair, wearing a dark dress stepped out. Never have I seen a type of crown like hers. It was so...different. Who exactly is this woman?

"Who is that? I've never see her before." Amelia came up to my side to also see. "Neither have I."

The woman suddenly looked up, right at me and smirk. Flinching from shock, I quickly dropped down to the ground, banging my knee again.

A hiss of pain left me as tears formed in my eyes, but I quickly pushed that away. "Do you think she saw me?"

Amelia looked back at the woman before at me, "Yes, most likely." I moaned in dread, getting up just a little to see through the railing father walking up to the woman and bowing his head at her. She turned her attention towards him.

"If she tells Father when I did when she was riding up here, I am done for! He will have my head." Pleasing a hand over my mouth, I began thinking on what to do next.

"Your highness, I am sure your father will not do such a thing. You are is only daughter." My head snapped up to look at the girl with brown hair.

"Amelia, you have been by my side for years now, ever since you were seven of age. You should know about now that my father does not take too kindly when I embarrass him. Especially in front of a beautiful woman like her."

"No, it'll be most likely that you will be grounded for life and will be unable to leave the castle grounds ever again." She stated, turning around and heading back inside.

"I rather have my head flying off my body than to have that." I whispered, following after her.
