-Third Person POV: Empress Circe-

Staring down at the chess board in front of her, Empress Circe smiled. Resting her head in her hand as she tried to figure out the little tricks her little fox used to win and was able to do so after a while.

Quite the sneaky one she is.

Chucking to herself, Empress Circe called out for her maid. "Vivian." The door to the guest chambers opened and a maid stepped in, her expression cold and empty as she bowed her head. "Bring the Princess to me, I want to have a little chat with her."

"As you wish, your majesty." Lifting her head, Vivian turned and walked out of the room. The doors closing behind her before she walked down the halls.

Paying no mind to any of the Eldoria knights on night watch as torches on the walls flickered. Her shadow wavering on the walls.

It didn't take her long to reach the Princess's chambers, no guards in sight. Raising a hand, Vivian knocked on the door. Putting down her hand before hearing movement inside after a moment.

Patiently waiting, Amelia opened the door. Looking shocked to see another maid. "Yes?"

"Is the Princess awake? The Empress wants to speak with her." Amelia shifted uncomfortably where she stood, her grip on the door tightening. "I'm afraid that is not possible, her highness is resting at the moment and shouldn't be disturbed-"

"Amelia, who's at the door?" Rowan called out, making Amelia turned to look at the her. "A maid from Empress Circe, your highness."

With Amelia out of the way, Vivian could see the Princess now. Her eyes landed on the young girl with orange hair who was laying in bed. Noticing her tired red eyes, dried tear strains, and the giant bruise on her right cheek.

Amelia blocked the view of the Princess when she turned back to face Vivian. "The Princess isn't unable to meet anyone time. I apologize." She bowed her head and went to close the door only to be stopped.

"May I ask what happened to the Princess?" Looking hesitant, Amelia looked back at Rowan before Vivian again. Lowing her voice so her mistress wouldn't hear her. "She is set to marry Duke Greyson. That's all I will say."

With that, Amelia shut the door. And Vivian turned around and headed back to her master to report her findings.

"Where's the Princess?" Empress Circe asked, not moving her gaze from the board when the doors opened and Vivian stepped in. "She is unable to make it, your majesty." She bowed her head. "I apologize."

The smile on Empress Circe's face fell. She leaning back into her chair and sighed. "How disappointing. I wanted to play another round with her."

Vivian walked up to the Empress and grabbed a bottle of red wine that stood off to the side on another smaller table, pouring her master a drink before handing it to her which Empress Circe took peacefully. Taking a sip and closing her eyes. "Anything else to add?"

"The Princess had a bruise on her cheek." Empress Circe paused, her eyes opening, a dark look in them as she pulled the glass away from her lips. "Explain."

"It seems like Princess Rowan has been wedded off to a Nobel men by the name of Duke Greyson. That is all I know."

The glass in Empress Circe's hand suddenly shattering. Vivian's eyes widened and she rushed forward, getting onto her knees and grabbing her master's hand. "Your majesty!"

Ignoring her, Circe opened her hand. Blood mixed with wine pouring down to the carpet as Vivian wrapped her handkerchief around Circe's wounded hand to stop the bleeding.

"That bastard." She snarled, eyes filled with fury as they darkened. Just as Vivian finished wrapped the handkerchief around her hand, Circe pushed herself out of her chair, grabbing the sword that was next to her, and stormed over to the chamber doors with Vivian following her.

Throwing the doors open, her knights standing guard didn't even flinch. Simply stayed where they were as the Empress marched past them in her nightgown.

Upon reaching the doors to King Henry VII's office, Circe pushed open the doors which so much power that they slammed into the walls.

Which also startled the man as his head shot up from the paper he was reading. Eyes wide when Circe walked into his office. "Empress Circe! What brings you here-" He was interrupted by a blade pointing at his neck.

Staring at the bloodless blade for a moment, King Henry VII lifted his gaze towards the Empress who was glaring at him. He gulped.

"You laid a hand on Princess Rowan?" His majesty didn't bother do lie, too afraid to do so and silently nodded his head.

Next thing he knows, blood was spewing out of his hand. But his hand was no longer there, it was laying on his desk instead. Looking down, his eyes wide ever more when seeing what had happened. The pain finally set it and the man started to scream, gripping his wrist with his other hand.

Circe paid no mind to the man's scream, sheathing her sword back to its scabbard. "I'm taking Princess Rowan back to the East where she will be my bride. If you refuse, I'll burn this entire kingdom to the ground."

Without saying another word, Circe turned and walked out the room.

Vivian, who stood just outside bowed her head as the Empress walked by. Paying no mind to the bleeding man screaming with tears running down his face as well as snot.

The knights who ran over upon hearing the commotion, didn't dare follow after the Empress of the East as she walked away after what they saw.
